In a 7- game series.

Porcello

Price

Buchholz

Erod

Subject to change. Who would have thunk.

That's what I have.

The subject to change may depend on the opponent. And only concerning Buchholtz and E-Rod.

Who's our third starter in a playoff series?

Probably Buch. ERod has better stuff but Buchholz has the experience. I would be happy with either one.

At the moment, I would say Rodriguez is our #3

It's close. I think Buchholtz is more prone to a major meltdown than E-Rod is, but if he's on he is better than E-Rod. I could see it either way.

One play...... one error messed up their whole game........

wow....... this should go back to that thread people were talking about how much defense can effect a game or a team or a season..........

the thing is........ no one cares or remembers how defense effects a game or series......... until you have a crappy defense........

Exhibit A.......... Hanley in left last year....

Keep the streak alive Clay!!!!!!!!!

Guys, please, as a Yankees fan, I beg the Sox to stop keeping us in the playoff race! I know what the Sox are up to, that is, giving Yankee fans a ray of hope, and then coming down to New York to mercilessly sweep us again as you swept us in Boston? HAS BOSTON NO PITY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I quite honestly have no idea what to make of you. Are you a Red Sox fan just trying to make us all laugh? Are you a Yankees fan using satire to show us how foolish you think we are? (If so, you are failing). Are you just...insane? I'm seriously asking, because this is the first time since an incident at the Greyhound station in Hartford ten years ago that I have been genuinely concerned about the mental health of a complete stranger. I just...if you need help, man, we can be there for you. Don't listen to the voices.

Let's sweep these bums tomorrow. Hope price bounces back and pitches better. This team's also fighting for home field advantage.

HFA would be nice but quite frankly get the division clinched ASAP so they can sit guys down for a few days. Bogie in particular but Leon really looks like he could use some days off and refresh as well. HFA is not worth having these guys play on fumes.

What happened in your life?

Let's just say that I made a big life decision that those close to me didn't agree with.

Out at a speaking engagement and find it hard to believe what happened in the 6th. The error by Davis was also a tough play--throwing across his body to a moving target. The dinger by Benintendi was simply unreal. The 7 great innings by Buchholz almost as unreal. As the announcers keep saying, as win tonight gives the Sox a 5 game lead over the 2d place Jays. More than that, a win destroys the Orioles on their field and in a series they absolutely had to win. What could be better?

That was a tougher play than the ESPN announcers gave them credit for. Yes, I chose ESPN over the Os feed because as bad as the ESPN announcers were, they are light years better than Thorne. But I digress.

It was a difficult throw for Davis, but give credit to Leon for making Davis have to make that play. Leon busted it out of the box and made Davis rush the throw.

This, boys and girls, is why you always run hard out of the batter's box.

Clay Buchholz: 7 IP, 3 H, 1 R/ER, 2 BB, 4 K.

3.43 ERA in his last seven starts.

Just when I think I'm finally ready to give up on Clay for good, he reels me back in.

He can be so maddening, but he was awesome last night.

Perhaps, but Clay deserves a lot of credit for limiting the damage in the 2nd inning. He escaped a bases loaded jam with only giving up one run on a sac fly.

This was after Leon made a mental flub by throwing to 2nd base on a sac bunt rather than getting the sure out at first, then the umpire squeezing Clay on a couple of pitches that should have been strikes, but resulted in a walk to load the bases.

This is the type of thing that might have led to a full out implosion, but Clay got out of it with minimal damage.

To Farrell's credit, he has been working in days off for guys in the midst of this winning streak.

Your point is taken though. Let's clinch the division and give our guys some much needed rest. While HFA would be nice, it's not all that it's cracked up to be.

Particularly for the Sox.

They've got the best road record in the AL.
