Great win all around, but especially for the bullpen who have been very good for most of September. Big hit had to be Bogaerts dinger to get the Sox within 1 in the 5th. Nothing better than to see one or two guys get the big hits one night and another get them the next day. A come from behind win on a day when Pedroia went 0 for 5 and Ortiz 0 for 2. Price threw a lot of strikes again today as he did his last start, but this time he got hit pretty hard--all 9 hits by the Yankees of which 1 was a dinger, 1 a triple, and 2 doubles.

 

Only 14 games left, but still not much breathing room. Nevertheless, it's great to have the other teams chasing the Sox. espn says the Sox now have a 98% chance of making the playoffs.

After all the years of frustration and watching them rise from the dead like vampires, how good would it be to poise the wooden stake over the heart, even if some other team gets to deliver the final blow?

I am never one to stick a fork in the Yankees. I usually wait until they stop breathing and two bullets are pumped into their heads, but this 2016 Yankee team is finished, finito, done. Mark it down.

The Yankees are almost done but I'll wait till it's official. They're 4 back in the WC with 14 left. If they beat us tonight and then sweep the Rays things will look much different. Weirder things have happened.
