For Sale we have to part with either Nintendo or Moncada to headline a deal. Are you prepare to lose one of them and lots more?

To get one of the best pitchers in the game? Sure, if you are 100% confident that he doesn't have ANY injury concerns. I believe some people are worried about his mechanics, but that's not my forte.

I'm glad I don't have to make that call.

The White Sox have been rumored to like Benintendi a lot...if he was the primary piece in the deal, it would depend on what else is going, IMO.

Yeah me too. I'd deal Benintendi, since we're blessed with two young OF already. Probably gives E-Rod up too in the deal.

Moncada is a no for me.

Benintendi + Devers & Groome. We got a primed pitcher in return, and keeps Moncada.

Can't trade Groome until the offseason.

I think Benintendi, Devers and Groome would be too much anyway.

If Sale was a happy camper and loved the ChiSox, the price would be higher. I think Dombrowski could get a far better deal done than that.

For Kimmi:

The Red Sox and White Sox had some late-night talks pertaining to Sale, reports USA Today’s Bob Nightengale (on Twitter). Nightengale adds that if Sale is moved — and that is a huge “if,” it should be noted — the Red Sox and the Dodgers are likely destinations. Jon Paul Morosi said in appearance on the MLB Network this morning that he considers the Red Sox to be the likeliest destination for Sale, though a trade is very far from a sure thing.

FanRag’s Jon Heyman tweets that the Red Sox have indeed talked to the White Sox on Sale recently, but Chicago is seeking “at least” four young players from Boston, including “three of [their] best.

Heyman wrote this morning that the Red Sox, Rangers and Dodgers are seen as three of the most likely landing spots in the event of a trade due to the strong farm systems and bulk of MLB-ready talent that each has to offer. However, he also tweeted earlier that the Rangers and White Sox haven’t spoken about Sale recently. Notably, the Rangers have been focused on other trade options, including Jonathan Lucroy.

I mean E-Rod and not Groome, as in the post above that.

Sale makes your team world's better. It also takes pressure off of Price. Sale, Wright, Porcello, Price, Pomeranz.

I would have to watch the Rangers, they like their aces, Lee, Hamels, Darvish and pays the price to get it done over the years.

I am not giving up Moncada in any type of deal. The white sox are probably asking for alot. Why not go for quintana and give up less.

To me, I'd let the Sox pick either Benintendi or Devers, but not both.

Was about to say the same thing. I think some people (not here, just in general) are still underestimating how good Devers can be.

I'd start with Benintendi, EROD, Kopech for Sale. Will probably have to throw in more but that package is a pretty solid starting point and reportedly the CWS really really like Benintendi a lot.

Gee, thanks.

In addition to the price being outrageous, I still have concerns regarding his tantrum.

Between the two, I'd take Quintana as well - extra year of control, should be cheaper. Don't know if that's on the table right now or not.

If the Sox get Sale, Pomeranz is one of the pieces going back to Chicago. You can bet on it.

@ken_Rosenthal: Source: #RedSox pushing hardest to acquire #WhiteSox’s Sale. No indication trade will happen. “Late-night talks,” per @bnightengale.

@ken_Rosenthal: Asked a source how strongly I should pursue possibility of #RedSox acquiring #WhiteSox’s Sale. His response: “Don’t waste your time.”

Gonna be a long afternoon.

All this talk about sale and we haven't heard other pitchers being mentioned for the sox. The sox clearly want sale but the white sox are probably asking for too much.

By "baseball needs to learn," you mean the players' union has to completely give up what it has negotiated for and turn over power to the owners?

I spent 40+ years in a labor union, sometimes as an union officer, and even *I* think some of the things they get are ridiculous.

My first piece of evidence is the salaries that Alan Craig and Pedro Sandoval are making. There should be some sort of salary relief for a team that pays big money to a player who isn't producing. There should be some middle ground in there someplace where the team bears some responsibility for a bad signing and the player bears some responsibility for not producing at the level the contract implies that he will.

I will be disappointed if DD doesn't pull off a fairly significant deal before the deadline. He has a knack for wheeling and dealing.

True but i hope our team starts playing better regardless. They need to finish this road trip strong. I hope price starts pitching like he's capable off

I've gotta say....

I don't understand all this business about hesitating trading Beni for Sale, and I'm not devaluing Beni when I say that. We now have two outstanding OF'ers. What the team needs is a mediocre defensive OF'er who can hit for power to fill the LF, and Beni doesn't fill that profile. I know, good numbers this year and all, but I'm suspicious of someone who's

There's nothing wrong with two teams making a trade that benefits both teams. Beni would be a good fit in Chicago and Sale would be a good fit here. I'm not suggesting a one-for-one (although I would! :)) but IMO Beni should be the centerpiece with maybe Pom and a respectable MiL're throw in. Butler, anyone?

A year ago I'd easily agree with you but if anything that is way too light the way the market has been going. Relievers are netting multiple top 100 prospects.
