Going up to the game today, I got tickets back on Christmas; good seats right behind first base too. I'll also be bringing my new GF, she's a big pats fan but not that much into baseball. I will try to indoctrinate here today. If you told me earlier in the season I would see Porcello pitch I'd be disappointing but now I don't think I'd rather see anyone else.

Will they check Pineda for foreign substances?

GO SOX!!1!!!1

If my math is right, Tuesday was the anniversary of that game. I remember watching the ESPN broadcast. O'Brien was PxP.

Hoping Porcello continues his win streak and silences a few critics.
I am hoping Porcello continues to pitch well because it is good for the Red Sox.

Last night was a great, great win, but hardly a beatdown. Until JBJ's double off the monster, Tanaka was in control and backed up by a great bullpen. And that Yankee triple was actually an error by our centerfielder. As for Owens, he led a charmed life last night with those four double plays, including the terrific throw by Holt.

Gotta love the way these guys are playing despite the rotation.

That Holt play was truly a beautiful thing to see. He was out by more than three feet.

Hey, if everything went according to plan 100% of the time, we'd never be treated to game-winning hits by Big Papi.

Truer words were never written. I still remember that tying grandslam in game 2 of the 2013 ALCS against the Tigers. That whole postseason was filled with unexpected treats.

I get verizon fios, which includes nesn, but only for pregame and postgame, Nevertheless, it was great to see shots of Yawkey Way, which is almost as great as seeing the inside of Fenway. Great atmosphere, but horrible sight lines down the right side, surely the worst in MLB.

At the game mojo from Hugh!

The Sox got this!

Nothing pisses me off more then when a pitcher throws the exact same pitch and one is a ball, one is a strike. How the f*** can you not be consistent? Both were balls.

I hate make-up calls. Unless they go for us.

I don't think it was a makeup call. Both pitches were clearly inside, he called the first one a ball, the next one he called a strike. Both pitches were in almost the exact same location.

Sorry, wasn't suggesting it was - just something I hate about inconsistent umps.

I agree with that. Its one thing to just have a big zone, or not call inside strikes, high strikes, or whatever, etc. However, an inconsistent ump who calls random pitches outside as strikes, but sometimes calls them balls, and does it inconsistently, its just frustrating.
