Supposedly, picking up his option for $13 million was a no-brainer for half a season of work. To me, it was a waste of money and opportunity to go in a different direction.

Indeed it was a no brainer to pick up his option. No matter how bad Buchholz may pitch this year, that will not change the no brainerness of that decision.

I don't mind one guy in the lineup not hitting the ball. But when Vasquez is at .146/.498 he IS a problem. He is even a problem if your CF is hitting only .240/.631. You cannot have both of those guys in your lineup hitting like that all year. Right now guys like Shaw and Holt etc are picking up the slack; that can't last at that pace.

I agree that it would be difficult to carry two weak bats in a line up, but that depends on a lot of factors. At any rate, it is too early to pull to consider pulling the plug on either of those guys. Personally, I am willing to sacrifice offense for their elite defense.

Houston announcers actually made a good point, the 3rd base coach was pretty clearly telling Altuve to stand up and pointing at the bag, which is why Altuve slowed down.. What a horrible job by the coach lol.

Not only that, but Shaw did a great job of deking Altuve into thinking that a play was not going to be made.

I didn't have a season prediction but I do now: 81-81 and count ourselves fortunate.

Ha. 90 wins baby! You heard it here first!

I agree since offense isn't the problem with this team. It is pitching, both starting and relief.

They should trade Buch for a dildo and jam it up Farrell's ass to wake him up.

This has created a very bad image for me since posted. My chronic OCD just keeps doing a replay.

Let this be a lesson on messing with mojo as well. A mod "fixed" my title, ruining the joke and causing the loss of my budding win streak. Shame on whoever changed my title.

It's odd, really. If Price and Kimbrel had been their usual selves in their outings in which we lost, the pitching would not look nearly as bad. If I recall correctly, I think that would be a difference of 3 games in the W-L column?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not the least bit worried about either of them, but had we won those games, big difference.

Don't ever, EVER, mess with mojo.

Well, there's really only ONE active mod...

If we manage to find our way to the bottom of the division, it will not be because Price and Kimbrel had a tough 2 weeks in April. It will be because of the rest of the rotation and bullpen and Farrell. Edited by a700hitter

It's been a rough 2 weeks for some. Perhaps the rest of the rotation and bullpen and Farrell will settle in nicely just as Price and Kimbrel will. Point being, it's too early to start making rash moves.

Like benching Panda in favor of Shaw?
