What do you expect from someone whose first name is NO-ee?

I wonder if he got that name because that's what came out of his mothers mouth when she found out she was pregnant with him.

He's played five f***ing games. Give me a break. He hit .240 in 55 in 2014. Not great, but tolerable with plus defense.

As I wrote, I am not replacing him right now. I would look at it again in June. If he BA is still below .200 and his OPS is south of .680 I am considering my options. Let me ask you this: what if, hypothetically, Vasquez by June is hitting at .150/.450. Do you keep him in there? What about .120/.400? My point is that there is a number that he has to be able to achieve with the bat or other alternative need to be considered if we want to play October baseball.

I'd rather have a catcher that can't hit. JBJ has some flashes of awesomeness. But, for the most part, he can't hit a side of a barn.

Likewise with JBJ. He has a floor that he needs to meet or one or the other, Vasquez or JBJ, needs to get out of the lineup. None of it will matter if the pitching doesn't improve.

Why is Elias even with the club? Surely there has to be better options. When was the last time Koji pitched? This one is in the L column....but win tomorrow and we win the series. Take three from Atlanta and we are in decent shape

Koji is only available to pitch when Red Sox are winning according to Farrell..

I think that now I can panic in good conscience. Or maybe, having been a fan since the 50s, I can just kick back and think about how stress-free things used to be in the bad ole days.

Wasn't he the throw-in on that trade?

Yes, I was kidding lol. Which reminds me, Carson Smith and E-Rod need to hurry the f*** up and get healthy.

You might not be arguing for replacing him, but you're the one bitching about his .176 average AFTER FIVE GAMES.

Koji can't pitch today, we don't have the lead.

I didn't have a season prediction but I do now: 81-81 and count ourselves fortunate.

81-81? I don't think so. It's going to be either way better or way worse. There's a wide range of outcomes for this team depending on just how f***ing dumb can Farrel be, whether or not Buch can tighten his sphincter and not s*** all over himself in tight situations, Price's douochebag act, Buch's douchebag act, and ERod's/Smith's health.

In the end, the 2016 edition of the Boston Red Sox is like my dating life: There's a wide range of outcomes depending on how much of an ******* someone is, but in the end, someone's going to be dissapointed.

Win one, lose one. The march of mediocrity goes on.

Of course it still early. But I said before the season that this is a .500 team and so far that has been true.

I don't see it changing without a vast improvement in starting pitching.

That's my best case scenario with this pitching plus what's on tap in the farm to supplement it.

You mean like Eduardo Rodriguez coming back from injury and Price not being the worst starter in the AL not named Colin McHugh?

Yes.

Even with those two changes I believe this team is short on starting pitching. E-Rod is not a #2 or #1. He will hopefully be better than the other drek.

This team doesn't need a full-on #2 to make the playoffs. They need three consistent pitchers, health from Smith/Tazawa/Koji/Kimbrel, letting the offense do its job, and Farrell not being a moron. That's it.

I never understood why they picked up Young. I would have given Castillo a shot at the job. Right now at Pawtucket he is at .345/.820. Yet Young is still here.....

I thought Young was a good pickup, mainly in case Castillo failed. Castillo should have been given the chance at the job before handing it over to Holt. With Holt being our starting LFer instead of being our supersub, our roster construction is really a mess.
