Tampa has a very weak lineup. Hopefully, our starters can chew up some innings against them.

Well it looks like brittle Kelly will start his stint on the DL pretty soon.

This is exactly what I meant when I was preaching the need for another reliable starter.

Kelly is the #5 SP. We don't NEED another ace. Owens has been pitching well; he should be next guy up. Kelly should go to the pen once ERod returns anyway.

We need a #2.. Thats for sure. Buchholz will be injured soon, Kelly and Porcello are trash and who the hell knows what we'll get with Steven Wright. E-Rod will help, but him and Owens are no guarantee either.

How do you equate "Ace" with reliable starter? We needed a guy who could take the bump with consistency because both our #5 starter (now injured) is injury prone, and our #2 starter (will be injured eventually) is also injury prone. You can't take the gamble and expect full seasons from either of them, let alone both of them. They needed another guy with the ability to deliver decent results and eat up some innings.

Its really early to make a judgement about our SP rotation. Obviously they have not started out well, but I think there is a good chance that one of Buchholz/Porcello/ERod will pitch like a #2 SP. The others are #3-4 SP, and then there is Kelly and Wright. Lets see where they are after about six starts. Besides, the fact of the matter is that we are not going to go out and pick up another high quality SP. What you see is what you get.

I don't get the Porcello hate.

It's not too early to make a judgment about the rotation. If you wait too long, you can find your self in a desperate situation like last year. ERod if healthy has the potential to pitch like a #2, but that is not a sure thing. Buch will pitch only through June.Let's not kid ourselves. Porcello is a #4/5 with a possibility of a #3 if everything falls into place for him. He is not a #2.

Completely agree. This isn't a dig at you, but anyone with a brain knew even with Price there was not enough starting pitching.

Nothing against him besides the ridiculous yelling and screwing the kid out of a perfect game.

He cried over that s*** as he should have. Bad bad bad mistake.
