I did say that either he is not throwing it or that he has lost it. It is just not there consistently low in the zone. How do we know from pitch/fx if some of those pitches that are up are not miss-located sinkers. I am not being sly, but how would we know. Yes, we can differentiate the breaking stuff and maybe the 4-seamers, but what about the other pitches?

You can literally choose a pitch type and check the heat chart:

I would have walked him. He is the 1 guy in the lineup that I would not give a chance to beat me.

yeah I'd pitch around him if he chases fine. Don't give their best player anything close.l

While we're detouring down Memory Lane, I was stoked to find the whole tv broadcast of Game 7 of the '52 World Series is on Youtube. Not because of the result, but seeing all my Brooklyn Dodgers favorites that I've only ever read about.

Who is to say that the pitch identification is accurate? I value Jerry Remy's opinion on anything baseball, and I remember him saying that it is very difficult to identify pitches.

Who is to say if this is real life? Who is to say if this is fantasy?

Wow, exciting pitching showdown this game! Taz strikes out their best hitter as the NESN cameras show a Red Sox fan giving double middle fingers.

Can anyone screenshot this?

Are you from Brooklyn? I love watching those old games.

They have a very accurate system recording every pitch, every hit ball, etc etc etc. It's the same system they use for Gameday, and for UZR calculations. There's some standard deviation, but it's as accurate as you're going to get.

It is still playing Russian Roulette with Longo. Taz did a great job, but there isn't much room for error with Longo.

I would have walked him. But then again, Farrell is a couple of sandwiches short of a full picnic

But what if there's a glitch in the Matrix?

I still have my doubts as to pitch characterization. I think the location plotting is accurate. Nevertheless, even if it is all accurate, he is just not pitching low in the zone. he can't live upstairs whether it is intentional or unintentional.

I am fairly certain the Rays lead the majors in number of players named Logan.
And they lead the ALE in players who could walk down Main Street in any major US city without being recognized never mind being asked for an autograph.
