And just like it'll be someone else's in a few years.

No problem was ever solved by figuring out who to blame.

If it's anyone's fault, it would be Dombrowski's. Or Henry's. Whoever is making the roster decisions, so my guess is Dombrowski with Henry's blessing. So yeah, both of them.

So it's the front office.

Glad to hear you say so. They are stuck with the mess that they allowed Ben to make and to leave.

Cool.

It will take Dombrowski a little while to straighten out the mess he was left with. He is being aggressive and I expect he will continue to be. Patience is of course a good thing but repetively finishing last does require possibly a different way of looking at things. It would be ridiculous if he wasn't trying to make some changes.

I don't blame anyone for what is going on. Im just thankful that someone or some group of people is/are trying to approach things differently. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. they can't be any worse so you just keep playing them in hopes that they get better. Patience once again is very important but being sensible and not being afraid to change and do things a little differently is equally as important. I think that we are seeing some change.

Well, as sk7326 said, it's basically the starting pitching. The offense has been very good and so has the bullpen for the most part. If the starting pitching gets straightened out this is a good team.

Just as it was Ben's when he was in charge.

Nope. When Ben was here he was just following ownership's direction. Now that DUMBrowski is here, it's all on him.

That's the root of our mess, Spud. DD needs time to clean it up.

Starting pitching.

I agree with this one. I mean I get it was only Prices first start at Fenway in a sox uniform but it does set the tone for him. Clay has always been an issue.

Ben was still an idiot! Dombrowski was known for trading away most if not all of the tigers farm team. We really don't want him dipping into our farm.

How can it be anything else other than the starting pitching? Our offense has been amazing, our bullpen has been great (minus the orioles game). I also don't get the hate for Dombroski. I think we are a Clay Buchholz injury away from being a great team.

You need to meet Kimmi, lol.

Whatever it is, a 7-7 record after 14 games isn't what I had hoped for. This team needs to play well early on if they are going to have a shot to make the playoffs. Check out the Sept schedule; its a bear.

I believe we're 6-6, not 7-7. Not that it much matters except that I was going to post that we were 7-5 after 12 games last year.

Seriously though we've faced some tough competition and it's not like our team has looked overmatched. Our team looks pretty good, if you ask me.

We are going to face some tough competition all year. Its obviously very early, but our team ERA is next to last in the AL. Its improving, but overall, it has not been good. This team had better have some padding by September because that month we have 19 road games and only 8 at Fenway Park. And the home games are against the Jays (1) Orioles (3) and the Yankees (4). They also will be making trips to the west coast for six games and play away against the Orioles and Yankees. Its going to be very difficult to make up ground in September, so they need to be in a very good position by then. A 6-6 record is not a great start, and a .500 team on Sept 1 has no chance of making the playoffs. There needs to be a sense of urgency right now.

Are you not entertained? ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED???

I'll take this record. The players are still getting in the grove.

It sucks we met up with Baltimore when they were over playing..... but o well. Let's see how the rest of the ALE does against Baltimore.

We have bested the ALE champs so far.

Every game we are in until the last out.

E-Rod and Smith coming back soon.

It could be better, it could be worse. We are ok were we are. We aren't no push over.

Last years start was baloney. We won about three games on errors. Then Hanley got hurt. The offense sucked, then the pitching gave up.

But you know the story.

What it boils down to is ....... who the hell knows. But at least this team has fight in them.

There is a sense of urgency right now, and there has been one since spring training.

A .500 start is not great, but nor is it terrible. Although the W-L record is the ultimate factor, at this point I think you need to take more into account than just the W-L record when trying to assess the team. Their record doesn't do them justice. IMO, they are a good bit better than a .500 team.

By stating last year's 7-5 record, I was trying to make the point of not reading too much into this year's .500 record so early in the season. A lot can and will happen before it's all said and done.

This team needs to be lit a fire under their asses. They're stuck in mud. Farrell can lead horses to water, but he can't make them drink.

They're just a player or pitcher short right now. We need a starter and a real power LF. Brock go back to being a super, giving guys days off like Betts who is scuffling. The role is best for Holt and the team.

As Kimmi said, this team is better than a .500 team, at least on paper, IMO. They do need a fire lit under them, and unfortunately for John Farrell, that means that he needs to be shown the door. Sooner rather than later.

There is no reason to fire John Farrell that wasn't true when pitchers and catchers reported. If they didn't fire him by then, they won't fire him before June. Count on it.

If they lose the next 4 games, he's gone.

Nope.

If the team keeps floundering they won't wait till the end of May. They are not in a patient mode, that has already been demonstrated.
