Great win. Lot's of good stuff happening with this team.

Yea, Porcello only looked half bad, the last three innings were promising.

I like seeing this bullpen do well, they are going to get some work.

Great win despite our starting pitching!

4 runs in 6 innings vs Toronto....... that isn't that bad. Toronto is going to rake on #3 pitchers better than Porcello this year. Porcello historically hasn't pitched well against Toronto(I'm not sure historically where he has pitched well), but anyway. I'd take that line from Porcello vs Toronto any day.

I'm keeping this for myself as a great win and the type of win we will need many of this year.

I think you are right my friend, but still Porcello has to put his s*** together, it could be worse.

There are a lot of good things happening with this team.

The BP has allowed 2 hits and 0 runs in about 10 innings against arguably the most potent offense in baseball.

The offense has scored 28 runs in 4 games.

Porcello's overall line was not great, but it was decent. Considering the only real damage was from Donaldson and Bautista, who many pitchers struggle against, Porcello pitched very well against the rest of the line up.

The calls to start Shaw and Holt are looking very good right now. Those two players are awesome!

This team has shown a lot of energy and fight early. They are fun to watch.

I feel good about the offense. I think the rotation will worry me all season. Hopefully it settles down a bit.

Accurate representation of my feelings at the moment. Can't expect to comeback from every game.

Everything worries you all the time.

Actually. I think this is Porcello with his s*** together. Even during his second half comeback last year, this was about it. Is it great, nope. Will it work with a good offense, hopefully more than not.

I'd be shocked if I ever see him dominate a game.

With Owens and Johnson crapping out in spring training........ boy do I miss E-Rod.

Porcello is Porcello. We know he's gonna give up the big shots, but he's also gonna get ground balls. From what I've seen, our group of starters (as in, not Pablo) are wonderful defensively. Those infielders will make those plays on all the ground balls. It sucks that Porcello pitches at Fenway, the epitome of a hitter's park. If he can become a game manager and a strategist, he can pick his way around the plate, around the batters, and around the game. We need to limit the long ball, and make sure they aren't devastating (i.e. grand slams). The offense should be able to get the lead early, or come back from 1, 2, or 3 runs down early in the game. We'll see how it goes, and see how well Wright pitches, because it could be beneficial to move Porcello to the pen when E-Rod comes back.

The Blue Jays hit 232 homeruns, led the league (by a laughable margin) with 891 runs scored, and absolutely demolished pitchers at home to the tune of 123 HR's, and that was with Tulo for only about half the season. Keeping that lineup to four runs over 6 IP is, at worst, respectable.

Why in the world would they move Porcello to the pen?

I think he's a good fit there to be honest with you. He would make a good long reliever. He's got the stuff, but leaving him in too long leads to the long balls. Nobody saw that in Detroit, with the massive outfield they have there. I don't think it will happen, unless we trade for another pitcher near the deadline, because right now, there's no one who could replace him that would be a better starter.

Porcello has reliever stuff? Seriously? The one guy who has the velocity and lack of secondary stuff/stamina/consistency is Joe Kelly. On a day when he clearly had location issues, Porcello got through 6 IP. Kelly blew up in 4 yesterday, and taxed the BP significantly.

Down the road, and based on what I saw last year, I see Kelly as the one who can solidify himself and hone in towards success. It seems to me that he is too hard on himself. If he were to just relax and pitch, he can be okay, if not good, for that exact reason: velocity. He can work on his command, that's no problem.

Porcello's line was better than his pitching. He left a lot of pitches up. He only got hurt by Bautista and Donaldson. He got away with a lot of other pitches that were up.

And he won't always get away with those.

Horseshit. He left a lot of pitches up and didn't give up 5 runs in 6 innings, only 4. He was good enough. Don't play the what if game with me or I'll play the "what if he didn't leave a lot of pitches up" game with you....

That game was vintage Porcello second half..... just ok enough. And I'll take it.

Winning this division isn't going to be a masterpiece, it's probably more like a Rocky movie.

Porcello > Kelly

I wouldn't argue that statement at all. But hoping not.

Please Owens show some stuff.

I still think Wright may show better form than all of them.........

I say we drop this until we stop winning.

This is actually what we are here for...... this is the fun part.............. this is the talk we would have if we were drinking beers at a bar together........ this is the good stuff.....
