jung is a big boy, he can talk for himself. Stick to your own discussions please.

You have been bullying him over and over again and he doesn't respond you. Don't you get it? he simply is not interested in what you say. Why don't you stop in the first place and let it go?

Listen, I'm not trying to begin a war here man, but I just think we all can express our opinions while we respect each other. This is what a board is all about, express opinions. Jung is not insulting anyone. Think about it, this is simply a honest advise.

UN has been bullying him because he's been sailing in here spouting absolute nonsense with no backup, justification, or evidence at all then just leaving to begin again in another thread. No one has carte blanche to come into a forum, post miles of tripe, and not expect someone to say something. And I say that as someone who has definitely posted my share of tripe over the years when I get caught up in some wild idea or another. I can see both sides on this one to a point, but I do think Jung needs to cool it with some of the worst of the airs he's been giving himself, and I have no problem with forumites picking at him until he does..

But there is no reason to denigrate the guy's opinion. You can disagree with him without denigrating him and telling him to stop. His opinion is as valid as anyone else's.

Still Doji, it's no need to bully a poster. He is simply emmiting his opinions about BASEBALL, some which I agree with and some not. Not big deal. IMO he is a good poster who brings a lot to the table.

Well we all post our "tripe" from time to time, but goddamn, the smug attitude and made up BS is just infuriating. And no, it's not "just stating an opinion" when you're passing it off as fact and implying that you know better than other posters, yet refuse to back up anything you say. Seriously, for the love of all that is decent.

And let's be clear about something: As I said before, jung is a big boy and can fight his own battles. iortiz, back off. If it's not about you, if it's not with you, just back off. This is how arguments that don't have anything to do with you start, and you end up playing the victim card. Mind your own business.

Not when he's passing it off as fact and calliing members of the board "casuals" who don't understand the game as well as he does. As you always say (and I quote) he can defend himself, mind your own business. This is what you told me whenever I said something defending Kimmi remember?

It's all opinion. Calm down. Anger is no good for general health. And it is boring to read.

Why do you people immediately asusme I'm angry? I've been posting here for what? 7, 8 years and we've had this same conversation several times. I'm blunt. If I was angry, you'd know, and I'm not angry right now. I don't want to engage either you or iortiz in a flame war of epic proportions over something that, quite frankly, has nothing to do with either of you.

Guys, the white knight forum is over that way ------->

if you can't stick to something more or less baseball related, GTFO of the thread until you can. There's no reason to bully UN just because *you think* he's bullying Jung, that's completely contradictory and nonsensical and doesn't paint any of you in a particularly good light.

I happen to think UN is right and Jung needs some of the air let out of him, but even if I'm wrong, that's not an excuse for everyone to turn on UN. The opinion that the unsubstantiated nonsense Jung vomits forth is nonsense is in fact nonsense is also an opinion after all. Let Jung handle the fallout of his own posts, and if he doesn't want to do that let him not make said posts, it's a pretty simple basic concept.

LOL!! I drew the inference of your anger from this: " but goddamn, the smug attitude and made up BS is just infuriating." Maybe you were smiling when you typed it, but that didn't translate here.

I'm so confused right now. Dojji's siding with me, while a700 tries to civilly discuss matters and shows concerns for my health. I.....there are no words. I love this place. All I need now is my bare-knuckle showdown with YOTN, and all will be right with the world.

Wouldn't matter if he was biting nails really. He'd still have as much of a right to said what he said as anyone here has to call him on it. Unless he's violating forum rules there's really nothing happening here, and this whole page of the thread is much ado about nothing.

You have to put that little spice in there to give the post the "oomph" it needs. The only person on this board who was actually able to make me visibly angry was Soxsport, in pure honesty.

Jung's been getting on my nerves too, though probably for different reasons. Preachy and pretentious I can deal with, bad communication I can't. I despise meaningless cliche catch phrases that communicate nothing, and his recent posts have dripped with them. I can't wait for some real ball to happen so we have something other than dry theory to talk over.

Some of the worst bullies I've ever dealt with were smiling politely at the time.

LOL!! Okay, maybe more subtle seasoning will let people appreciate the flavor and substance of your post. ;)

First off, it's unlikely they all suck, but let's assume they all do.

The current obligations for the 2017 Red Sox amount to 148 million, with Ortiz retiring, Uehara leaving, Buchholz leaving, Hanigan leaving, and Tazawa leaving.

Castillo has options, so he stays in the minors. Porcello moves to the BP in a swingman role, and the one of Panda/Hanley who sucks less stays, the other is cut/traded eating most of his salary (the Sox have eaten big contracts before, so it's safe to assume they would now). Assuming a 190 million soft cap, 10 million in arb raises, and holes in the outfield, 1st or third, the BP and the rotation, this is what a Red Sox offseason MAY look like:

C Cristian Vasquez

1B Sam Travis

2B Dustin Pedroia

3B Travis Shaw

SS Xander Bogaerts

LF Andrew Benintendi/Yoan Moncada

CF Jackie Bradley Jr

RF Mookie Betts

DH Hanley Ramirez

SP

David Price

Eduardo Rodriguez

FA/trade (3/45, options include Buch himself, depending on his platform year, Doug Fister, CJ Wilson, Andrew Cashner, Jesse Chavez, etc)

Joe Kelly

(Battle between Porcello, Wright, Brian J, Henry Owens, etc)

RP

Craig Kimbrel

Carson Smith

(LH setup man from FA, options include Brian Matusz, Eric O'Flaherty, Manny Parra at 3/18)

Matt Barrnes

Tommy Layne/Robbie Ross Jr

Noe Ramirez/Brandon Workman/winner of ST battle

Rick Porcello

Bench:

Blake Swihart (backup catcher, they have him learn other positions)

Brock Holt

Chris Young

(FA 1B/OF like Garret Jones)

That's around a 183 million payroll, and a possible contender, health permitting. That's just my take on it, and obviously it's just a fantasy scenario, but it proves that the Sox aren't "clogged" anywhere. At all.

Back to baseball, I posted this well thought out look into the future, and would like to engage in some healthy discussion about it.

It needs to be spicy, otherwise how do you know I'm Latin? My English is too americanized. You know who this argument reminds me of? ORS. Man, good times.

Well, I just landed in Mexico City and this escalated quickly. UN? I just gave u a honest advise. You can keep bullying a guy who doesn't give a s*** of what you say or write about baseball. it's up to you. Case closed.

If Porcello shits the bed I honestly don't see him in the BP. IMO he will end up the rest of his contract as the eternal No. 4-5 while clogging us a spot.

Again, mind your own business. Case closed. When I need advice about places to visit in Mexico, I'll hit you up.

Also, I don't see Castillo staying in the minors. For good or for bad he is going to be in the roster through the length of his contract unless he is traded. Edited by iortiz

AS for the UN 2017 projection:

It all sounds good. But I think that we may all be a little star struck with Travis, Moncada, and Binintendo. Does anyone really believe that all three will be ready for 2017? Maybe 1 or 2. Maybe. It could happen, though.

So the Sox will grab an unspecified new #3 and the rotation will be better? Maybe you did not say that. But in any case, I just don's see this staff maturing or morphing into a solid staff that easily.

I think that if the Sox don't get very lucky, or drop a shitload of coin on another top of the rotation arm, we will be stuck with essentially what we saw in 2015. Drek.

Surely, if they do send him down they would have to bring him back up to showcase him for trade purposes if nothing else. So He will come back up again if sent down. However I doubt he would come back up again until they felt like he was ready to be showcased or if injury in the 25 forced them to bring him back before that. But your right....if he goes down chances are pretty close to 100% that he would come back eventually.

Yup, that's kinda the scenario I was imagining.

I agree with your take. That is all.

As far as the jungster's long posts are concerned, my take is this: a) it's all just words on my computer screen; B) anything longer than 2 short paragraphs and I'm scrollin' right past it.
