I couldn't hear the announcers on TV where I was, but this doesn't surprise me at all.

 

I now live in Texas and have found that Texas fans in Austin are real cool to watch a game or talk baseball with......they know their stuff and are pretty even keeled about their team and other teams.

Hard to say but I think that they didn't expect this from him. I say, let him start, say 5 more games and let's see what happens. If he stays this solid, there's no reason to trade him. Hopefully this kid is for real.

Oh the sweet smell of hope. Nothing wrong with the spot starts and trying to manage Eduardo's miles - but doesn't take Nostradamus to figure out whether he'll be in the rotation after the break or not. Owens could get a turn maybe too - but he's just not throwing enough strikes on the farm (though it has gotten better).

I look at Swihart, Betts, Zander, and Holt. And I think that with 20 pounds more of muscle and a couple of years of seasoning in the league, this group will do serious damage.....

Oh sure - but I do think there is legitimate question as to where the help was going to come from. I am not going to go crazy about one start against a not-special team - BUT Rodriguez did look like "reinforcement".

I disagree, with how they've pitched since early May, the Sox should be at least a .500 team. They haven't climbed the standings because you can't win consistently scoring an average of two runs a game.

Pete, keep it to yourself. He wasn't insulting anyone. If you want to speak up, smack down UN when he gets personally insulting. That is a problem... whether or not he is your friend. Everyone on this board is irritating in his or her own way. That shouldn't be anyone's focus.

 

Keep what to myself? I did not insult him. I stated a fact and then my opinion. I never called him a name. Hearing the same thing over and over is boring and has become irritating to at least three members of this board. If User says something that I don't agree with I say so. Read yesterday's posts.

 

As for censorship or whatever, VA and then you criticized me for calling Papi Poopi ( even though many in the Boston area call him this ). Out of respect for two other members of this board I stopped. No biggy. Even if the idea does not agree with me.

 

To me, saying the same thing over and over to people who you know will be unlikely to agree with you is trolling and/ or is childishly disrespectful to those members.

 

But hey. If you want more divisive comments that will likely lead to more ugliness, by all means continue to endorse this type of behavior.

 

I fully expect you to suggest that I put iortiz on ignore. But I will do no such thing. I like reading most of what he has to say and I do not dislike him. I just don't like hearing the same thing over and over again said by the same person when it serves no purpose.

Before this game they were 25th in ERA and 9 of the last 20 games this team allowed 5+ Rs. No need to wait until June when they could be out of the race. Masterson is done. Porcello sucks. Kelly is likely going to the BP. As I said, Hopefully this kid could help us right the ship and the offense awakes as well for once and for all.

Cueto could be a very nice addition. If Buch and Miley stay solid and this kid turns into a reality... And they add a guy like Cueto, this season could be saved.

Pete, I just thought that you unnecessarily stirred the pot on a night when we had a game and a performance to enjoy. You did call him a "bore", so there was some name-calling. I don't want to argue with you, but we know that UN has professed a psychotic hate for Iortiz, so any endorsement of his criticisms of iortiz are likely to spin out of control. Peace brother. Maybe we can get another good start tomorrow from the other PawSox alumnus. That would be fun.
