Says who? Remember that a contract's structure is money + years. They overpaid by a couple million in AAV to keep the contract short. I have no qualms about it.

Just my opinion. I think they should have waited until the season ended. they would have gotten him for cheaper. He's has a couple good outing. But, the rest have been hard to watch.

The kid looks great.

I've been listening the game in the radio in my way home from the airport in the middle of this horrible traffic jam and rainy night here in Mexico City, and this kid has made my trip easier. Seems like this kid is going to give us some satisfactions going forward.

He's in his first MLB game and carrying the team. Frickin' impressive.

Hamels is 31 and will be for the entire season. Not exactly ancient. He's in his prime.

For another year, statistically. That's the type of trade that usually comes back to bite teams in the ass.

Porcello doesn't deserve all that hate. But, he also doesn't deserve the big contract he got.

No he doesn't. He is nothing but another mediocre pitcher out there, but Cherrys loves overpay garbage.

That's at the back end of prime years. To me prime is 27-32.

I think, I'm going to watch the whole game on MLB.TV once in home.

If we start trading away young talent for guys who are about to come out of their prime years, we will turn into the Yankees.

Exactly. Well put.

This is a pleasure to watch-- a Red Sox pitcher going into the 7th inning giving up no runs on 2 hits on 90 pitches. This is fun. Based on what CP said about him, my expectations were high, and he has met those expectations plus more.

f*** King Felix. This is King ERod! :)

His pitch count is reasonable, but I don't see sending him out for the 8th inning. It would be our luck to blow out his arm before he gets his feet wet.

Good for this kid. Let him have his day in the sun for as long as he's got things under control or until he says he's tired.

So refreshing to see good pitching; nice control, Ks all around, etc. specially from a kid from our farm. Hopefully this kid is for real.

Hey Cherington, let more kids play instead of throwing tons of money in mediocre arms like Porcello.

Did they have record players in Mexico when you were growing up? You sound like a broken one.
