I'm just gonna say one thing: Whose mojo did we have for Miley's shutout of the Rays? Mine.

That's all I'm gonna say...

crap, I thought we might take game 1 and 3.

I guess you never know when NY comes to town.

The line says Masterson did well. That may be more important in meaning for the season than the one loss.

The most tragic aspect of this game was Craig, whose every hit unfortunately guarantees him another week or so "look" by Farrell.

Tazawa was f***ing stupid. If you're pitching around a guy, which he clearly was for pitches 1-3, you don't groove one on pitch 4. Also, the league is on notice. If you're down any number of runs after 7 innings to us, you're done. Betances and Miller are one hell of a 1-2 punch. And the rest of the pen is the balls too. That is the one thing that will fall in the draft, and we have it in spades throughout the system, pen arms. We've got 4 guys at AAA who would be in the bigs with most any other team, but our pen is so deep, we don't have room.

It's also time we eschew understatements and tell it like it is. The league is on notice, the Yankees are World Series favorites.

Not at all. We aren't World Series contenders IMO. We need sustained health from Tanaka or a trade for a top of the rotation starter. Our pen and our O might get us to the playoffs, but I don't like our chances there without some serious front line pitching

f*** Taz. You still want him to close, Station?

Double f*** that stupid kid who brought his glove.

Triple f*** his pink hat dad for not teaching him right.

Quadruple f*** Remy. Eck is way better than you. Retire already.

No, really, I insist on brash arrogance and an undiluted swagger from Yankee fans. Feigning coyness is unbecoming of fans of the winningest franchise in recorded sports history. Consider the possibility that you aren't looking at the situation realistically. The Yankees surely can pick up some rental pitching if needed and succeed in winning yet another championship, for surely they haven't won enough. Winning is the ethos of American culture even as it is a Quixotic endeavor by definition; no franchise epitomizes this bottomless greed more than the Yankees. Due to their unprecedented success, they now have many emulators , a sure sign of flattery and social pathology. I'm equally certain the Yankees will consider Arod's 6 million dollar bonus worth the price of a victory. After all, these athletes aren't paid enough.

Why are you here if you despise professional sports and a franchise's greed?

My interest lies in where the threshold resides. I take a perverse pleasure in imagining the outcomes to this eventuality. We've squandered our endowments; why not derive some enjoyment from our depredation as we cross the event horizon? It's who we are, at least along these contingent lines. Speaking of lost opportunity, the city of Baltimore squandered a perfect opportunity the Romans exercised to its fullest potential. Bread and circuses. Eventually the granaries become exhausted, as everything is subject to diminishing returns, but in the interim, why play to an empty house when they could have invited a fraction of the city's destitute to partake in a day of reprieve, a field of dreams, a poverty jubilee with a complimentary diabetes inducing beverage and cardiac clogging hotdog? Of course, security presence would have had to have been absent, for obvious reasons. Let the next city deal with another contentious death, thank you very much. And the event would have perforce called upon an ultimate exercise in faith on the part of organizers that the ne'er do wells, sloths, morally depraved and people otherwise perceived as social freeloaders would not exploit the situation. But the upside would have been a calculated act of largesse and a sign of compassion. It might have offered a longer period of reprieve. Oh well. In the meantime, the privileged class would do well to avoid imprudent displays of ostentation and rather adopt the essence of jade, which is often wrapped in unassuming dirt caked commonality. In appearance only, mind you; I wouldn't expect folks to actually adhere to the mandates of the sages of every major religion. Profess in name only. That's why we have words - to deceive.

I would very much appreciate it if you could act the part of an obnoxious Yankee fan trolling a Sox site. It would be much more interesting. If you persist in being gracious, I will question your loyalty to the tribe.

ARod hitting the game winning HR to tie Mays was probably the worst case scenario way for the Sox to lose that game. IMO, it was just sickening.

That said, I can take some solace from the fact that Masterson pitched a solid game, especially considering it was against an all lefty line up.

Teenagers should not be allowed to bring gloves to a game. I hope he dies a virgin.

But obviously we need to allow Doug Flutie to bring his.

If you ever wonder why Yankees fans have the reputation for being the most obnoxious, this post is Exhibit A.

I agree. I am really bummed about that loss, but as has been said before, sometimes a 3-2 loss is more important than a 10-9 victory. Masterson has pitched solidly in his last couple of outings. Hopefully, that bodes well for the remainder of the season.

As President of the Allen Craig Fan Club, I was really happy to see him hit that HR. I haven't given up on him yet.

I missed last night's game. I decided to avail myself of the opportunity to see to of the games top pitchers (Harvey and Scherzer) go head to head. After the game, I caught the end of the Red Sox game on the radio with John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman. I had just missed the ARod homer. They were just gushing. Sterling called it one of the most dramatic things you would ever see. He described the fans reaction to him as very loud and negative and he just went on and on about his great feat. They said how difficult it was to come off the bench in freezing weather to face a guy who was throwing 96 mph. They went on about him until the end of the game and described the scene after the game as if every writer and announcer was lined up to interview the great ARod. Was this close to accurate?

And relative to other Yankee fans, Jacko only qualifies as moderately obnoxious. :D
