This is a most interesting game thread, one unlike any I've ever seen before.

This is unusually good for recent year's game threads.

Join the fun!

Thunder's opinion of anything is skewed. He's like sixteen years old; his opinions aren't even fully developed yet. They'll come in with his training bra.

Couldn't help but chuckle a this one. Nice.

Anything is better than last year's tumbleweeds rolling by and crickets chirping during GTs.

That would really sting if it wasn't a rewording of the same joke I made that you quoted. :P

I'm the Carlos Mencia of Talksox. A fat wetback riding somebody else's talent to fame.

I'm hoping to be around more this year. It's funner watching the games and reading the game thread. You guys sure do like ragging on each other!

Thank God for this 3 PM start tomorrow. School gets out at 2:10, which leaves me just enough time to get home and mentally prepare myself.

When you're older, "enough time to get home and mentally prepare myself." will become "enough time to get piss ass drunk and snort some coke before the game."

Now if only Clay Buchholz and his merry band will cooperate we can have a very nice day tomorrow. I'm watching the Cardinals-Cubs right now and Jon wasn't all that sharp tonight. Gone in the fifth with three runs in and the bases loaded. I was rooting for him because I think he did a helluva job for us and to me it was Prune Face's fault we lost him. Sorry he didn't do better tonight.

I'm sorry, I've been gone for a few months, but who the f*** is prune face?

That is the young, smooth, fresh-faced Fred's nickname for the old man John Henry, used without a hint of awareness of situational irony.

Color me thoroughly unsurprised.

It is, but you also have to consider that Buch hasn't thrown a pitch yet.

I have been meaning to say this for a while, but have refrained in order to avoid creating a hostile situation with the resident old curmudgeon.

YOTN says what no one else will, because he's the hero Talksox deserves but not the one it needs right now. So, we'll ridicule him, because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian. A watchful protector. A Dark Knight

Nice quote, but not applicable, considering how goddamn white YOTN is.

Why create anything then User? What I said was true. Lester did not look good tonight and I wish he had. I also blamed Henry for losing him---and that's a fact as well. Not trying to create any nonsense here but what's right is right. Henry blew it badly and you or someone else not liking it doesn't make it any less true because, once again, that statement is fact. Lucchino also said we were going to get an ace, remember? Or did you forget that? Well where is that ace they promised us? Or did Larry the louse really believe that Masterson could be that guy, or Kelly who can't stay on the field, or Buchholz? Maybe Porcello or Miley? And where are your predictions this year? Come on, put yourself on the line as I did. Anyway, let's win that first one tomorrow.

It's a joke Fred. A joke about your face being wrinklier than Henry's, hence the irony of you calling him pruneface.

We also have an occasional poster called Prune Face now.

You called? :D

I'm curious about what the over/under is for when the California teams cease watering the baseball turf. You'd think Fred would have bigger concerns than continuing to fret about Lester/Sox. On the plus side, you can be damn sure the beer in LA won't be watered down.
