Thank you for asking. Everything is fine, and thank you for reminding me about Fort Myers. That always lifts my spirits.

Can you still get decent to tickets to Sox games in Fort Myers 700? I tried to sneak over there last year but everything was sold out. I am going to be in central Florida during some of spring training. I would like to see them play. I was out 5 times in 24 hours moving snow around up here. Tough place to be this time of year.

I just looked on soxprospects.com and Henry Ownes is ranked 2nd and Rodriguez is 5th. I can count and read so I don't see why everyone is bitching at User Name when it's clear in that the Sox scouts have Owens ranked higher between the two.

Just to add I'm not trying to come to UN's aid I'm just saying people are lashing out when to say the least he is right.

They like Ross, obviously. You have to trust their scouting on this one.

Or maybe we have to trust their analytics department on this one. ;-)

There is an interesting article at Fangraphs about how Ross was likely the victim of some poor catchers last season. He had the highest rate of pitches taken within the strike zone that were called balls, and tied for the lowest rate of pitches taken outside of the strike zone that were called strikes. His catchers did not do him any favors.

It may not amount to much, but OTOH, with Vazquez and Hanigan being great receivers, it could be huge.

Also, Ross has a high groundball rate, which fits in nicely with the Red Sox pitching theme this year.

There is a way to disagree without accusing some one that he makes stuff up. That's being nasty and mean spirited needlessly.

Couple things here - He responded to me not the other way around. The numbers are correct - Owens 2 - Rodriguez 5- read the fine print. The upside of Rodriguez is greater than the upside of Owens. Not according to me according to whoever compiles the data. Read the fine print. You can defend that jackass until the cows come home if you like. If I say something that is my opinion then I guess that is my right. If I say it is a fact which I didn't then you can question it all you like.

You see why I and several others have him on ignore!

In your particular case, you just don't like being called out on your BS (and it's a lot of BS), a trait shared by all of those who have me on ignore. My heart pumps piss for you.

I'll stand behind what I said based on what I read. It was not stated as a fact. Honestly I could care less where they are "ranked". I made a credible point. No one would ever expect you to be respectful, but how about you maybe starting a conversation as opposed to simply attacking. .Oh wait - I think I can guess what's next. I am not on your lofty intelligence peak and have nothing of value to offer. You are a twister of words and a crude designer of insults.

Doing some quick research of a number of sites, I found one that proves your point. While Owens may be ranked CURRENTLY higher than Rodriquez the upside is in Rodriquez's favor. Most sites say Owens will be probably a nbr 3 but Rodriquez could project higher to a possible 2. Any one interested can do a google search and actually read the reportage themselves rather than rely solely on rankings which ultimately don't give the whole story.

Yeah I have a desire to try to learn more about the importance of framing. With the snow I'm going nowhere. This would keep me busy.

I like the article, but there's no denying that Ross' stuff just isn't that good.

It's calling a spade a spade. If someone made something up, he/she made something up. Grow a pair.

Is that last line a card joke?

Trey Ball > Rodriguez

My order would be Owens/Swihart/Rodriguez. Rodriguez is interesting, but Owens has a wow factor for me. His ceiling is CY. Rodriguez could be solid 2 or 3.

What is it with you changing my posts now? :P

That would be my order as well, mind you, but if given the choice to trade for a #1, i'd still rather trade Owens than Swihart.

The author dissed Renaudo a lot. He made it sound as if Renaudo was pretty bad in MiLB and that was just not true. Lack of control and no change up maybe but he put up some good AAA numbers.

I also believe the author makes some pretty large assumptions about Ross.

But it was interesting to read.
