Back to 3 games under 500 soon for this team.I am just surprised at the ineptitude of this offense all year long.Gotta stop the bleeding or the season will go to waste. This team has given their fans at home nothing to cheer for. They have been awful at home.

People may have found Kruk annoying tonight, but I think that he was right on with his assessment of the two teams tonight. The Tigers look like a well-rounded juggernaut. We don't look like we belong on the same field with them, and the results of this series gave a strong indication that we are not competitive with the Tigers. He also pointed out that last year we got some career years from guys like Nava. Carp, who was discarded by a terrible Mariner team, was also a key contributor. He pointed out that last season our LF position was the most productive in the league (using several different platoons). This year, Nava's Joe Hardy-like deal with the devil has expired and Carp is floundering around. We are getting nothing from LF, CF, or 3B. We are barely getting average production from SS and Catcher. The other 4 spots are just not enough to carry a consistent offense.

Our only power is coming from ortiz. This team is very weak offensively.Idk how they will start scoring runs.It could get ugly soon.

This is such a terrible offensive team. ESPN had our 5-6-7-8-9 hitters combine to hit .230 on the season.

Yup, that's why the problem isn't JBJ. The problem is most of the team is underperforming.

it's a team wide problem. Only Ortiz is producing everyday. Farrell need to shake it up a bit. Let Victorino bat lead off and insert Bogaerts into the 2-hole. His high OBP has been wasted for 6 weeks now.

This would be worth a try. I'd bat Pedroia 3rd and Ortiz 4th.

Part of the offensive problem is definitely Bradley. He brings something else to the table with his glove so they should look to upgrade offensively elsewhere first. The likely spot to upgrade right now is third base, especially with Middlebrooks on the DL for the second time this season.

How long would it take for Drew to be ready? 2-3 weeks at AAA? His glove is ready now. His bat? Couldn't be any worse than what most hitters here are putting up. They've been stubborn about keeping Xander at SS, can Drew play 3B? Wasn't he willing to change position?

If Drew comes back, he's the everyday SS. XB would be at 3b.

I gotta believe that ship has sailed. I'd almost rather see them bring up Cecchini (sp?) than re-sign Drew.

Outside of the core players, this team sucks.

AJ has a .634 OPS. Ross .614 OPS. Gomes .722. Carp .633. Sizemore .645. Herrara .450 OPS. Buchholz 6.15 ERA. Mujica 7.71.

Are the rookies really going to do much worse than that? Call them up!

No, I agree. Drew wants multiple years, I wouldn't give it to him.

Station, HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!!!!! I've been suggesting this since the season began. Vic at leadoff and Bogey second. Pedroia is a hitter and taking pitches and trying to act as a leadoff man is not in character for him and it does him a disservice and makes him less effective. Papi and Nap should bat fourth or fifth. It wouldn't hurt to give this a try and I think it would work. Of course, that doesn't solve the six to nine problem because, frankly, AJ has been a disappointment, Middlebrooks is out of action, Sizemore and Gomes are not cutting it and Badley looks like he's in over his head. Cecchini anyone?

If we dont straighten out, why not? Lets accelerate the future.

Hate to say I told you so...

Lester has 5 losses despite a 2.60ERA and 2.10FIP (best in baseball). Pitching his best ever. He has a low 2.90 runs support per game, and 4 times they score 1 or less for him. Edited by Station 13
