Tigers thought they improved their bullpen, Joe Nathan just gagged.

He triple gagged last night, giving up 3 in the 9th, but they won in 10.

In a fantasy baseball league would you guys hold onto Josh Hamilton and/or Manny Machado or cut them? At 3B I already have Longo, Wright and can even use Bogaerts if needed but was hoping to use one of those guys as trade bait and maybe upgrade at 1B over Edwin Encarnacion or in the OF (Currently have Gordon, Granderson, Dominic Brown, Jose Bautista, and Starling Marte) and with Hamilton he sucked last year but was off to a hot start and I'm not sure hes worth waiting for? IDK, I don't really play fantasy baseball and just looking for some opinions because right now my whole bench is injured dudes (Hamilton, Machado and Kershaw)

One hell of a game going on in Texas right now. Darvish had a perfect game through 5, both starters pitched excellently. Rangers had the bases loaded with no outs in the bottom of the tenth and didn't score. Still scoreless going into the bottom of the 11th.

Another one? Darvish been involved in some interesting games vs the Astros in his career. This must be the third time he is perfect thru 5.

Shitload of HRs in Cincinnati today, holy cow.
I thought offense was down across the board, or is that a rationalization to help us feel better about e Red Sox suck ass offense? Edited by a700hitter

AL teams are averaging only 4.15 runs per game to date. Without even looking it up, that would be the lowest number in a very long time.

NL teams are averaging 4.33 runs per game. Either NL hitting is getting better or pitching is getting worse.

There will always be exceptions. It's only early. Plus ten more applicable clichés. :D

I think the last part of your missive pretty well sums it up Ted---and for the life of me I can't understand why our team can't hit in sync and be more productive with men on base.

Good God, how many pitchers have already gone down this season so far? Feels like an epidemic---and that bothers me in another way concerning one of our own. If pitchers are coming up lame the Red Sox may be more hesitant than ever in trying to give Jon Lester the contract we know he needs so he stays on our team.

And the Yankees only have two more wins. The Brewers have the best record in baseball. It's amazing how things look when the season has barely started.
The start of this season is starkly different from the start last year. The offense looks flat and listless, and some of our biggest bats our injured. It doesn't portend of the end of season results, but right now we do stink. Playing stinky ball looks the same no matter what part of the season you are in.

Edit: If the Red Sox lose tonight, they will have done something that they didn't do at all last season--- lose 4 games in a row. I am betting that our our guys bounce back tonight and avoid the 4th loss in a row. Iortiz, what does your betting system say about tonight's game?

Farrell was just fined by MLB about his complaints with the instant replay system getting a call wrong. Fined? Are you kidding? There's no freedom of speech? Was it because he shouted at the umps in that game? So getting ejected is suddenly illegal? This sport is getting so wimpy.

edit: just realized that this doesn't exactly belong in this thread but w/e, this is about something that happened in and after an MLB game.

Freedom of speech definitely doesn't apply to MLB. Rule of thumb is to shut up and don't make the league look bad.

Making the game look bad is the exclusive domain of MLB.
