Repeating the same incorrect idea over and over again does not make it correct. Not every player who latches on with Boras is looking for max dollars only, as presented above. Stop spouting nonsense.

And the Sox have the money to retain anyone they want to.

And the Sox have demonstrated they'll get early deals done with Boras. However, the most contentious negotiatons always seem to tend to be with Boras clients, so Soxsport isn't entirely wrong either. You pick Scott Boras as your agent because you don't mind turning a contract negotiation into a full declared war in order to get the most out of your deal in the end.

The absolute statement: "Every player who hooks up with Boras is looking for max money" is incorrect. Because, for one, absolutes are always incorrect. And second, we have several examples (Jered Weaver and Mark Teixeira being two of them) of players taking less money to stay or go to places they want to be, so he is indeed entirely incorrect.

Was Boras Cano's agent?

Sox Sports is not wrong at all LOL. U? has a crusade against him regardless what he posts. It's curious, but I haven't seen Sox Sports replaying him not a single time, but U? insists bullying him at any instance, Why? Who the hells know, it's f***ing sick. If he disagrees in everything he says, why does he bother replaying him?, Jeez!

Anyway, out there are very very vey few cases. Most of the times and regardless the sport every professional player is looking as much money they can get, regardless the agent, that's not even debatable. Thing is that Boras has an outstanding track record getting the big bucks for his clients who are usually the top FAs every offseason. On the other hand We do not know with precision, the terms of those negotiations/offers which seem from the outside-in and at first blink more juicy (like probably happened in this case, IDK). IMO Boras f***ed this up big time. I think that he expected more money somewhere else and/or expected the NYY raise the offer, and when he realized that was not going to get more money, he had to sign with the Rangers, which is still a very good offer, but as I said, IDK. Whether Boras/Choo f***ed this up or not, Still Choo is being overpaid.

The problem is Soxsport will make a post.... have someone objectively disprove what he says with hard cold facts, and then make the same exact post in another thread. He doesn't interact with other posters -- he throws a pile of slop out there, and moves on, without any intention of discussing or arguing the merits of what he is saying. I have reacted the same way UN? does to SS, because it can be extremely frustrating, but I have since moved on.

Exactly.

I have agreed and disagreed with SS just as I do with all the posters. My point is, if you disagree all the times with someone… move on, as you did.

Anyway… I think that all professional players are "show me the money" type regardless they are with Boras or not LOL!, and I don't blame them a bit, It's business, plain and simple.

I agree. I think what Pedrioa did is the exception (taking less to stay) and not the norm.

Hell, thanks God he already resigned. He signed for 110 M, didn't he? Imagine him as a FA these days… I bet the NNY would have offered him a 140-150M contract. The 1 M question is, would he have turned down a contract like that? I doubt it.

In a way he did by taking the home town discount early and avoiding the FA opportunity. He had to know he could have gotten more on the open market. This is why the Nation loves this guy, and when it is all said and done he will go down as one of the greatest Sox ever.

While I think he wanted to stay in Boston at almost all costs, the key was that everybody thought that Cano was going to resign with the NYY and other than Seattle and arguably a couple of teams more, nobody would have paid him more IMO. As I said, thanks God, we are not in that situation.

That may be true Pal but his recent post concerning Boras was pretty much right on the mark, and if you check back over the past few months User has NEVER agreed with him on anything....NOT ONCE!!!!! Yet SoxSport has been a good sport about this all along and has refused to get into a urinating contest with that guy. He does have one out, though, and maybe he will put him on ignore as some of us have.

Thanks for trying to explain things to iortiz, but like SoxSport, he insists on either not making sense or being an outright idiot. /endrant will continue to ignore iortiz.

Put him on ignore and don't lose time getting angry if you are going to bitch about his posts by default.
