@JennyDellNESN: Only 18,605 fans at The Trop tonight but man, it is LOUD in here.

Helps when you pump in noise.

It's why I would stay away. Your eardrum need to last past age 50.

What doesn't this team have right now?

9 above average hitters in the lineup. Great defense up the middle. The best closer in baseball, and a pretty solid group behind him. The bench consists of the best prospect in baseball, a monster in Mike Carp, a great defensive mitt in David Ross. And don't forget Buchholz, Lackey, Lester, Peavy.

If Buchholz picks up where he left off, this is a world series team. Legit, no homerism involved.

They had the best record in baseball with him out.

They were a WS type team anyway.

Funny coming from the "Not a World Series team" guy.

Sorry, couldn't help myself. :D

Is there any doubt Koji is this team MVP? Where the hell would it be without him?

I don't even want to think about the answer to that question.

What amazes me is how he is doing all of this without a beard of any sort. It defies all logic.

I'm stunned that Koji could be this effective. He has been absolutely lights out for us and what amazes me is that User is bragging up a storm right now. He was the main guy insisting that this was our closer. A couple of us fell in line but certainly not with the enthusiasm of User. Koji could actually be our MVP, but let's give a few kudos to Clay. I mean he's missed three full months of Major League competition but goes out there and gives us five solid innings and picks up a vitally needed win for us. This is what I call a very nice evening-----but tell me honesty my friends, how many of you actually believed we would win this game tonight? Face it, the odds were stacked against us with Price going for them. Wow!!!!!!!!!! BIG WIN, BIG WIN!!!!!!!!

Y'know, sometimes I have trouble going to sleep, and need to get a "handle" on the situation. If you need some help helping yourself, do as I do and go to this website:

Koji Uehara Baseball Reference Page (You're welcome)

Koji has allowed 41 out of 234 batters faced reached base. Let that sink in.

Lately you have not been capitalizing "I". It's been driving me nuts. I know that you enjoy that though, so I guess I probably shouldn't have said anything.

I'll start capitalizing it. I knew it'd piss someone off, I just didn't think it'd be you. I prefer to be on your good graces. I need someone to defend me against the haters.

Koji is the best Sox closer I ever seen.

Kinder was great--especially with a hangover. Radatz was unhittable. Koji right now is hot. Perfect command. An inspiration for setup guys looking to close.

This team is playing so well right now, you wish they would get fast frozen and thawed for the playoffs. If Buchholz is back, they'll be the favorites.

Koji is in an incredible hot streak. No one even reaches base on the guy. I have to put this streak of excellence right up there with a couple of historic seasons that I have seen-- Eck when he had an ERA less than 1 and about 50 saves and the other was Willie Hernandez for the Tigers when he won the CY Young and MVP. That's how good he has been. Edited by a700hitter

Who pitches game 1 in the playoffs?

That's a tough choice. I'd say it depends on how Buchholz looks in his last start or two before the season ends. If he looks the same as he did today and goes deeper in the game, then him. If not, or if he, I hate to even hint at it, gets injured again, I'd say Peavy.

If the pitching stays as hot as it is, they are.

Before Peavy came here, the SP looked a little thin. Now, Lester is on a roll after a tough stretch, Lackey is still dominant, Buchholz seems to have come back right where he left off and Peavy has been San Diego era Peavy. That's a damn good playoff rotation right now.

Lester. He's this team's ace, no matter how good Buchholz has been. I don't trust Buchholz enough yet. He needs 1 or 2 more starts like this.
