Very little, if anything. It'd be probably be best to hold on to him.

Yeah, more potential value with him on the bench rather than some rehashed bp arm.

We should trade Nava before he turns back in to Nava. That would free up a roster spot for Bradley, who also gets on base but plays better defense.

Minor league numbers translate into major league numbers. Nava's minor league slash line is very good at .317/.415/.498.

There is no pumpkin here. Nava is a decent ball player, but being an outfielder, he will likely bring little in trade.

Going into today's game.

Aoki in 221 Games is .289/.359/.415/.774

Nava in 217 Games is .254/.359/.402/.761

Nava is a year younger but has more of a platoon split.

Aoki

vs L .293/.345/.390/.735

vs R .287/.367/.429/.796

Nava

vs. L .209/.308/.333/.641

vs. R .270/.377/.427/.804

I don't know about their defense though.

Edit: Thus far today Aoki is 0-2 with a walk and Nava is 3-4 with 3 singles.

Buch is on his way for an MRI. So it begins.

What the hell is this guy made of....wax paper? He sleeps with his arm around his daughter and turns up lame. He trips near first base and is out indefinitely. I'm not a big aficionado of weights even though I use light ones myself, but this guy needs to get into a gym and get some strength. Is it possible this guy is a terrific pitcher but a total candy-ass?

Oh my god. I can't remember the last time I heard candy ass get used in conversation.

You're not reading all Fred's posts obviously.

Watch Mark Melancon close a game out today. I never thought I'd see the day.

It is either because he is now in the National League or the Sox have The Curse of Papelbon on closers. Melancon has an ERA of 0.96, a WHIP of 0.857, and a K-rate of 9.6.

Melancon seems to have had anxiety issues with the Yankees and the Red Sox. Maybe they should have kept him. But who the hell knows...

Seems rather speculative. He could have just had a bad year, it happens to relievers all the time. He pitched 20 innings for the Yankees and had a 4.87 ERA as a rookie. If someone's judging a pitcher based on 20 innings as a rookie, they probably don't understand baseball.
