At this point now that we're losing might as well throw Lackey out there for the 7th. He's only at 91 pitches and our bullpen has been overused. This is also his 3rd start back from injury.

The stat at the beginning of the game was that the Red Sox are 11th in the league in fielding. We started off pretty good in that category, but the team has nose-dived in this aspect.

I'm not sure what the offers were for Ellsbury, but I remember a time when Texas wanted Ellsbury and Youkilis for Teixeira.

Considering the downward spiral Teixeira has been in the last four years, the Sox actually dodged a bullet with him, then promptly jumped in front of another one in the form of Gonzo's balky shoulder.
