For someone who is interested in keeping peace on the board you have an incredibly obvious need to remind everyone of why there wasn't. This entire comment, and the one before it, are perfect examples. When you put people on ignore, it's supposed to stop things from moving on. Calling people "miscreants", whether or not you use names, since everyone knows damn well what and who you mean (and I know you know we know, too), doesn't make you look like the party with the higher ground. This is a message board, keeping track of each time someone says something to or about you and trying to use it to make yourself look like an innocent wounded puppy is not going to work. Just stop talking about this. People are on ignore, there is no need whatsoever to remind all of us that you put them on ignore. Move on. And if you keep making snide comments about the people you are supposedly eager to forget, don't act surprised and offended when someone points out how hypocritical and annoying it is. I am, at this point, probably a few weeks or even days away from kicking you and about six other people off of this site so I and the other people who hate this crap don't have to listen to it anymore.

Warning received. You will have no further problem from me. Now I wish I hadn't even made that post. We're all in this together.

YES!!! NESN showed them the other night and many people were laughing at the old unis. Not me! I remember when the Astrodome was a very big deal and the bright orange striped unis were a perfect match for the image of the team. To this day when I think of Nolan Ryan, I see him in one of those uniforms.

Actually I was referring to the ones they just switched from.

This very much overcomplicates the point.

The point: Baseball is a game of streaks, they are currently riding a bad streak. Those two very talented players, if healthy, will hit, and they will hit close to their last-three-years average.

Fair enough. I guess my point was simply that the statement seemed pointless. If he was playing well, you wouldn't have said a thing. The fact that you mentioned it means that you expect him to go on an absolute tear, which I argue is illogical. Just because he has been cold doesn't make it anymore likely for him to get hot in the near future.

Anyways, I think it might be safe to say that Pujols is starting to break down. This is now the third year he has started terribly slow and his foot injury is a major cause for concern.

Yeah, I'm nitpicking. Lets move on!

Sure is a confidence booster playing them especially early in the season. Both mentally and statistically. Thanks stros for a four game sweep..sox fans can't wait to see you again

Which is why the caveat "if healthy" is there. Don't kid yourself, the Angels (led by Pujols and Hamilton) will hit.

Don't know how many saw Cabrera Sunday night. Tigers are now only one back of the Royals and Cabrera is pretty insane. 26 RBI so far this season.

Had two on and a 3-0 count. You could see him probing and judging where the pitcher was going to go with the 3-0 pitch. Pitch was up and not quite middle but middle out. Cabrera took it right back the way it came but with his power it ended up 20 rows back in the RF grandstands. Had guessed right. Game over.

Sure they will hit.

But to me the big thing about Pujols is that starting with 2009, his numbers have been regressing in a sharp, steady downtrend, very similar to A-Rod's starting with 2008.

That's why I thought it was so insane for the Angels to give Pujols what they did. The evidence was right there in front of them that he was in the same decline as A-Rod.

Isn't King Albert's one of the last of the long term contracts., out at 10 years I think and one of the last everyday players to get it as I recall.

In that sense Bell has a point. It may even be a worse contract than Aroids although that would seem hard to accomplish. But the years just stretch out in front of the Angels on Albert's contract. He is signed through 2021 making monster money the whole way. He is 33 now looking like he will be sorta' all done by 37-38 maybe. That leaves 4 years hung off the back of that contract where he may well be totally useless. Maybe that is about right then to rank up there with Aroids but not actually worse in productive years. But the Angels will be paying Albert more during his decline than the Yanks are actually paying Aroid and the dif is not small. Aroid is surely headed toward 3-4 years of uselessness at the end of his deal.

No doubt Albert will hit this year. What is he going to be doing even as a DH past 37-38 years old at any sort of rate of decline? Both Aroid and Albert are sliding at a rate of about 50 points of OPS per season and have been since 2008. Based on his start Albert looks like he will be on track to slide at about the same rate this year. In fact, once again he will have to have big numbers during the remainder of this season just to climb up to a 50 point slide off of 2012.

Miggy is truly amazing. Shifts to 3B from 1B, and doesn't skip a beat. Get that HOF plaque ready.

The starting pitching is carrying them. Plus Farrell is turning out to be a winner.

Or the Yankees. But I don't think it's fair if I choose 2 teams, so if I have to pick one it'd be the Sox.

O's vs Sox?

for how long the sign, all 2014? saying anything?

one month is ok .

If O's or Sox do not win the division, we are even and nobody changes the sign, right?:)

Youk, hire ItalianStallion as your enforcer. He knows his s*** and he reads people pretty damn well. Some people just can't get along with some others for whatever reason.

I'm not gonna lie to you, I'm pretty bad at this stuff. In my time here I've gotten into nasty fights with the majority of members. I was temp banned once for fighting your greatest ally. When I graduated college and hit the real world I guess I mellowed out. I hated my job so much that I didn't have it in me to hate anyone else here. Now I'm way too lazy to get into a heated argument with anyone here. And I probably communicate with Talksox members more off the site (email/facebook) than I do on the site.

And I also joined a forum that is way more violent and petty that makes this one look like Switzerland. It's hard to get angry on here anymore. I consider that a good thing.

You are not an enforcer type. I think Fred was tongue in cheek about that, but you are a fair and level-headed arbiter.

^ Did you think you would ever read that in one of my posts? There is hope for lasting world peace.

Israel, I am also hoping that you lose.

Hope the same Ted.

In the way I see the division I think O's have the most rounded/balanced team. I still think that Toronto have a very good team, I expect they bounce back. Rays is a very tough team. NY aren't going anywhere. At least gonna be fun this season.

The division is wide open but IMO O's is a bit above the others. We'll see.

I agree with most of your assessment. However, NY always seems to find a way, and they are staying in the thick of the race. Getting Jeter and Grandy back will be huge boosts for them. As for Toronto, they are burying themselves in a deep hole. Now, Dickey is getting an MRI on the back of his shoulder. If a losing attitude takes hold, they could have problems.

I see an old wounded horse in NY.

On the other hand, You are right, we can't discharged them, NY is NY.

Thing is, Today I see more flaws in that team than the others, but that's just me.

I thought I saw that old wounded horse last season. Hopefully, the horse collapses this season.

Sucks that there isn't a game tonight.

Last year it was "no game today, at least they won't lose."

That defines my career as a Jaguars fan. If any team was able to lose on its bye week...
