I wish you were dictator of NY. The Long Island Rail Road has horrible on time performance. Seriously, it is will be the biggest factor in my eventual decision to retire from my current job.

I certainly wouldn't waste all my time trying to eradicate the Big Gulp.

The Sox get to play about 15 more games with Toronto, which right now is basically the same thing.

I'm still afraid the Jays are going to "wake up" at some point.

It's a month into the season and they're already more than ten games under .500 and 8 games back in the division. If they don't wake up soon they're going to die in their sleep.

Bloomberg is an idiot. Makes us outsiders long for the days of Rudy.

At least we have a few games with them out of the way and Reyes should still be out a while so hopefully we can sneak some more games in with them before they become good. They were initially World Series favorites at some point, right?

Almost a must sweep against this team. You figure the East will not be so easy to beat. You have to dominate the lesser teams like the Yankees always do. Right now, all the starters are clicking and keeping them in games.

The Yankees are amazing right now with all their old castoffs hitting way over their heads. Even Overbay got into the act today.

That would be fine too!

If you could make the trains run on time and let us drink our sugary drinks, you could actually get elected.

Yep. Some picked them to win it all. I love stupid predictions that go wrong, hope that's the case here.

If Toronto's players looks as uninvolved and disinterested as they did the last time we were were up there I think there is a good chance it will turn to be coma before death as opposed to sleep.

Might have a lot to do with their manager. I don't recall seeing a manager so disinterested.

I think I want the Orioles to fail as badly as I want the Yankees to. I just hate Showalter so much.

I don't hate Showalter but I agree otherwise.

I don't think any team will give Bobby V a MLB Manager's job again...not after the mess he made up here. Anybody who thinks being a disingenuous bastard is a path to motivating ball players should never be in a position of authority over ball players again, not unless the organizational ambition is to be a train wreck. Bobby V would likely have been the perfect managerial choice for the movie version of the Cleveland Guardians as depicted in Major League I and II since that owner wanted her team to blow up.

I really feel sorry for the Stro's. Teams are going to be so syked up to play them because nobody is going to want to lose ground by losing to the Stro's. they will not likely get any sort of a break from anybody.

Maybe they have some hope down on the farm or something. You would think they would try to play a different brand of baseball. But they don't even seem to have enough talent to try to do that. It seems to me the only thing they will be able to count on is the law of averages. That will likely account for an occasional win by the Stro's or for a team on a winning streak an occasional lost game by the opponent.

Not to mention that the Astro's owner is a total jerk and might be almost as bad as Miami's owner. He basically said that if the fans want a better team that they should write him a check.

The pity is that fans with any kind of memory don't have to try hard to recall times when the Astros were one of the best franchises in the National League.

Pathetic what they have become

Fun fact #1: Albert Pujols and Josh Hamilton each make more than the Astros team.

Fun fact #2: After today's game, Pujols (who is now a DH) is hitting .244 with 2 HR and Hamilton is hitting .219 with 2 HR.

Other than his big mouth, I wouldn't attach any other blame to him--he came into a no-win situation for him. He had no organizational support--Lucchino left him hanging in the breeze. He did walk away with considerable Red Sox treasure.

Pujols keeps threatening to decline with all these slow starts. We'll see if he can pull out of it this season. The Angels are walking on thin ice with some of these humungous contracts. But they aren't worrying since Fox Sports West is paying for it.

As for Hamilton, I think there's something to be said about avoiding long term contracts to over-30 players. In fact, I would avoid 3 year contracts to over 30 players--which the Red Sox should have avoided. But then they are riding high right now, so why be concerned.:D

Because baseball is a game of averages, we better not be in the way of the Angels when those two beasts finally awaken.
