I just want to point out that, as of this moment, as I type, the 4-5-6-7-8-9 hitters in the Red Sox lineup have the following batting lines:

 

Napoli: .208/.224/.396

Saltalamacchia: .241/.333/.448

Middlebrooks: .227/.255/.545

Drew: .071/.235/.071

Gomes: .167/.348/.222

Bradley: .103/.278/.138

 

That, my friends, is almost unfathomably bad. I know it's early and all, but still. Holy smokes.

 

we need papi's production right away!

 

hopefully those bats wake up soon.

we should have kept Overbay atleast we know he could have hit some balls out in Yankee stadium..

 

its funny how Youk Overbay Suzuki Wells even Hafner are freaking hitting well. yet our DH has nothing so far.

Napoli's been good thus far? His line coming into his 0/2 performance thus far was .217/.234/.413/.647. I don't know about his defense but even if it was gold glove caliber I don't think it'd salvage his current .208 average.

 

2hr and 10rbi in 11 games. He's not winning a batting crown. If he hits 30hr's and 120rbi with a 210 batting average (which is what he's currently projected to do) not sure there would be any big complaints. Also, big bats come alive once the warmer weather comes. He's shown enough so far to prove his worth.

I don't think Gomes can be sent down, I'm pretty sure he's been in the league and while and is well out of options.

I think JBJ likely will go down pretty soon though seeing he is really struggling.

 

Gomes and Drew are the weaklings now. lets see how it pans out. I miss Cody Ross:(

I was actually kinda of excited when they signed overbay I thought he would have been a decent backup

yeah but he has not gotten a single RBI that sucks man.. he is just wild swinging as hard as he can.. atleast thts what it looks like to me.. :dunno:
