Baseball is great this year. I know that teams like the Mets and Brewers and Twins and Cubs have E numbers of 1 or 2 and it's just a technicality at this point, but it's stunning that in the second week of September there are only 4 teams that have been mathematically eliminated from the postseason. There are two entire divisions in which every team has a technical shot at making it. That's not to mention the small-market teams that are killing it this year, like the Pirates and the A's, and the Royals still in double-digit E numbers. It's just incredible. This has been an awesome season.

I thought the discussion in the GT was pretty funny. I particularly enjoyed J_E's threat to conquer TalkSox. It was excellent chain-jerking stuff that was apparently misunderstood.

I remember a distressing number of people getting online and asking about the Russian invasion of Georgia a few years ago. People from Georgia, the US state, were freaking out becase their TVs were telling them that Russia was bringing tanks into Georgia and they thought they were going to be blown up by the Russians. Well there are. Plenty.Don't wish time away. Not every thing is about you and your birthday. I want the Red Sox to go deep in the play offs and perhaps more and my birthday isn't until November. Crazy huh?
