And what the hell could that have been based on?

Well to be fair, he did give up 1 run to a much better offense last time.

And yes I know someone will quote this saying "but he sucks!" I know. I know he sucks. He sucks.

Doesn't take too much investigation work now does it? Dice K is officiall unvaluable

Whata way to waste money.

Burnett is actually doing great now. Perhaps Dice-K should join him in the NL.

Should be worth a try right?

If we don't get a Garza/Greinke/Hamels/Hernandez type pitcher at the deadline I think it is quite obvious this no more than a playoff appearance team. Maybe we're happy with that this year and if so might as well wait for FA to get someone. Plus, I dont think Cherry will bring anyone to Boston by the deadline anyway.

Moss with more HRs than Gonzalez. It just goes to show how pathetic Gonzalez has been this year.He went a month without a walk since he can't hit for power and pitchers will just feed him strikes.

The word on AJ is that he cannot take the heat in the big market kitchen and is thriving in Pittsburg because it is a small market team like the last small market team where he did well.

Based on what? He leads the AL in walks.

From the sample I've seen, Darvish tends to fatigue in his outings and that has led to some of the walks. Early on in his outings, he's more aggressive and establishes his fastball and strike 1 much more effectively than Dice K.

He may become less effective as the league sees more of him. A perfect example is this Oakland A's team, which managed to score several runs on him the last few times they've faced him compared to being held to 1 run in their first outing against him.

Oh yeah Adrian...another base hit with nobody on....and another single to boot....please

I'm shock that he avoid the double play ball this year, because he pop ups when runners are on.

I would be fine with the singles with nobody on if they were accompanied with more extra base hits and home runs and less K's, DP's and pop ups with runners on.

We never understand pitching on this web site. Pitchers ratchet up the intensity with runners on and this years AGons is for the most part a fail in that situation and he is not paid to be a fail in that situation. He is Wade Boggs in a bigger suit size. Add to that the fact that he rarely drives the ball anywhere anymore whether with runners on or not and you have what is looking more and more like a year that is going to go right down the tubes on top of a second half of last year that was the beginning of his power numbers decline...not a very pretty $21M picture.

Lol.... Everyone is back to hating life again.... Welcome back guys :)

I wouldn't hate life so much if they made waiting up until 10 o'clock to watch a f***ing game worthwhile.

Ah yes and Mike Aviles another guy that it just took awhile for the opposing pitchers to catch onto. Now his BA is into the 260's and his OPS is .705 while still being a liability in the field at SS. The only silver lining to Mike Aviles is that he might be the gateway to the Sox actually playing a SS that can play SS!

Yeah f*** base hits!

Pick your battles.

Good job you powerless singles hitter! Way to make an impact.

He reminds he of Wade Boggs in his later years, with less power if thats possible.

Still several innings to go. Anything can happen I suppose.

This year's team has been awful in the opening games of series and, more times than not, has been able to recover from dropping the 1st game of the series.

Did you actually think Aviles would continue his early season success?

Jung, players dont turn into above average players overnight. Law of averages.

.......at this point, the only stat that looks decent is his RBI's, which is a irrevelent stat to an individuals skill set.

Hahaha... Me and my brother were just talking about the mixup yesterday with the ball/strike count when Ross? Was hitting.... Anyways, you wanna talk about a mind-f***, we have just smoked and were in full fledged zombie state when the count was 2-1, Ross swung and fouled a ball, then the count went to 3-1....... Dude(s) seriously.... We were freaking out.... Lol funny story had to share

The Red Sox still have a 9 game west coast trip in September' date=' this series is important to take beginning tomorrow night.[/quote']

They should be winning all of these games.

They missed the playoffs by 1 game last year. Pissing away games to terrible teams will cost them.
