I decided to be an Arsenal fan after I got into soccer' date=' cause they play really pretty soccer (sorry, we have the better football) and because they don't buy their entire roster like a lot of other sports teams (Man City, Barca, Real Madrid, New York Yankees) do. [/quote']

Thats your opinion but football is played by almost every country on earth unlike your American football there are billions of fans watching it.

Oh Rafa Rafa

You were our gaffa

You were really, really great

And was a real good mate

I think you're truly sublime

And think about you all the time

I know you are resilient

If you get through this it would be brilliant

You will always hold a place in our hearts

If you were a singer you would be top of the charts

For us the number one spot always belongs to you

We love you like a panda loves bamboo

You took us through some magical nights

And took us to some truly wonderful heights

Due to others there came some lows

And when you finally left our hearts froze

I wish you all the best in your life

I think you have a really nice wife

Hopefully you'll win the lot with Inter Milan

Then I'd love to take you on a trip to Abidjan

Good luck Rafa in all that you do

I know if I was you, I too would have flew

And when you have defeated Rome

I hope you will come right back home

Excellent knowledge, right down to Man City. Nice one

And soccer is an English word anyway B)

Not only that, if you look at old English newspaper reports, say from the 50s, you'll see journos using it all the time. "Football" was also used when referring to Rugby. Confusing eh?

Interestingly Thierry Henry (ex Arsenal Striker) said of Liverpool in 2003, “First of all, I would have loved to play with Steven Gerrard and second I like the club and their fans. There’s something about Anfield that you can’t explain."

“I love it when you step out of the dressing-room and you see the Kop, the scarves, and [hear people] singing You’ll Never Walk Alone. Just that, that would do it for me.”

He'd have loved to have played for us.

Soccer. I know nothing of liverpol so this thread has me like

Here you are mate. This gives some idea of the passion of the true fans.........

Our club became the Kings of Europe and we had the Beetles too.

There's a difference between "can"' date=' and "do", but the rest of the post I agree with. [b']The Barcelona Spanish is quite a bit different from the rest.[/b]

That's because it's acually Catalan.

I guess he's entitled to his opinion. It won't make me a Liverpool fan, though.

He said as much when he had to leave Arsenal. But due to his love for the gooner fans, he chose not too. He would have made a great addition. Good at basketball too ;)

Henry was in a position to compare. Nothing wrong with the Arsenal mate. Liverpools passion is second to none though - no owner can buy that.

Can I ask a question about baseball? What do you Red Sox fans think of the SF Giants (my team)? Do you even think of them?!!

They are in the opposite league and are on the opposite side of the country. I personally don't mind them, and I don't think many people here care about them one way or the other (don't like or hate)

I think they had great pitching, but a mediocre lineup at best. Beautiful ballpark though.

I've always liked the Giants but I think Barry Bonds ruined baseball.

Catalan is second to Spanish in Barcelona. By a significant margin.

This.

Nice group of pitchers, Posey is great, Sandoval was overrated after last season. I don't really know how their offense manages to get production from Aubrey Huff and Juan Uribe. That pitching staff is really scary though.

Is that a reference to his off the field activity and dubious involvements?

ATTN ENGLISH PEOPLE VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION:

Beatles or Stones?

Down to personal taste mate. Probably the Beatles because they were woven into the fabric of our city and are certainly more iconic. Only my opinion.

No way the Sox are getting a new park.

I was really thinking how does it compare. Initially I read Fenway was brought up to date with new ownership, rather than a new stadium being built, but another non Sox forum cruised through earlier suggested it's not so good. I've looked at some pics, but that doesn't really say much. I liked the red seat!

Very few fans would want a new Fenway. It might be nicer, better looking, and more comfortable, but it wouldn't be as good.

Easy. Stones. I mean' date=' you can crush all the Beatles you want with only one Stone...oh, wait, you meant...oh, never mind.[/quote']

Probably explains why there was such a huge crush on them then!
