  1. This is very good for Liverpool Football Club. Kenny is back so I expect there to be some real passion and commitment. He won't put up with the antics of sulky premadonnas either. We're back on track ......... yipppeeeee.
  2. Loads of stats, which really boils down to a call for NESV to look towards a new manager for LFC. Regardless - happy Christmas to you all.
  3. No doubt about, in fact the whole team was wearing red socks.
  4. Yes. She really likes her football and I sinerely hope that she sticks around a lot more; lady lucky. Great crowd today and a great win for us. I hope that John Henry can visualise a 80,000 capacity stadium packed with Scousers. Difficult to get the full impression of the atmosphere on the television but in the ground the noise levels are terrific.
  5. Firstly, I do not doubt that both Glasgow clubs are 'great' in many ways. They both have loads of tradition, history, passion etc. Furthermore, LFC does seem to have very good relationships up there also. A Liverpool v Celtic, or vice versa fixture, is obviously a big attraction - we have quite a lot of similarities. No offence to the Scottish lads but LFC does appear to have a far bigger following / interest worldwide. That is not to say that the fans of either Ranger or Celtic are not as fanatical - they obviously are. But LFC has our song - YNWA which was adopted by Celtic and many European clubs (especially in Germany) and was incorporated into prominant 'theme music' for the 2006 World Cup. I went last year to watch my German club Kaiserslautern - they wear all red, have a great 'Kop' and sing YNWA. I was in the away end which at the time was Duisberg. K'Town were great and reminded me of the old Liverpool. Bearing in mind that under G&H I was in full boycott mode so going to K'Town was like being on a football pilgrimage. Plus the German lads were very respectful and we had a great time, (as it should be) - they adore LFC. If Celtic lads want to believe that their club is bigger - let them. The facts (sponsorship & worldwide connections) suggest otherwise.
  6. They should have been given free soap & water, dirty shower of ****ers. Linda is lovely. I have a good feeling about NESV, John Henry, Tom Werner et al. They seem to naturally enjoy the atmosphere and like being owners, rather than those two despicable carpet-baggers. You own the club now Linda so warm welcome - enjoy; have a good laugh and shed a few tears. Learn the words & sing along - the fans will love you.
  7. Dalglish to open new club store .......... http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/dalglish-to-open-new-club-store Liverpool Football Club are delighted to announce the opening of a new official club store in Belfast. The 2,000 sq. ft. unit will be based on Castle Lane in the heart of Belfast's shopping district. The store will carry the full range of official club products and will create at least 10 new jobs for the city. Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish will officially open the store - Liverpool's fifth official club shop - at 10am next Friday, November 5. Playwright Nicky Alt will be in attendance on Saturday, November 6 to sign copies of his One Night in Istanbul DVD. Lee Dwerryhouse, LFC Head of Retail, said: "We are really looking forward to the store opening and would encourage all of our fans in the area to come along. "As a city Belfast has many parallels with Liverpool and the club's fan base in the city is huge. "Our fans in Belfast are extremely passionate and their loyalty to the club is unbelievable. I am delighted we have been able to reward that loyalty and passion with our first store outside of the north west of England. "We considered many sites for our next store but all the signs kept pointing back to Belfast. This store signals the start of an expansion strategy that will see a host of official club stores opening outside of Liverpool over the next few years." ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Great to know that we (NESV et al.) at least appear to be making in-roads into other regions. As the article says, LFC are huge in Belfast - time they had a LFC store.
  8. In reality Celtic FC share the same sponsor deal with Rangers FC - Scottish based sponsor (Tennents) amounting to 1.5 million pounds per annum. http://www.footballshirtculture.com/sponsorship/celtic-announce-tennents-lager-shirt-sponsorship-deal.html Why couldn't Celtic FC secure a far better deal? Even Liverpool FC under dreadful ownership secured a far better deal (80 million pounds over 4 years), that was guaranteed to reach a worldwide audience and recoup the cost relatively quickly. Makes you think doesn't it? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8253953.stm
  9. These adverts are making me ..... Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
  10. There are some big lads out there - some carrying quite a bit of beef.
  11. Thanks mate, I'm trying to get a stream.
  12. Excuse me lads - I haven't seen the ball since the kick-off. I'm trying to get to grips with what is going on. Who're the Boston Celtics playing tonight please?
  13. There are some great games / sports with unusual origins.......... The earliest known origins of table tennis is that, in the 1880s, British soldiers in India and South Africa played a game using a table, a row of books placed in the middle of the table for the net, a cigar box lid for the paddle, and a rounded cork from a champagne/wine bottle for the ball. I used to call it 'ping pong' as a kid.
  14. Welcome mate.
