MESSAGE FROM THE MODS: Don't use this thread to carry on with ridiculous soccer feuds. If you have something interesting to say post it' date=' but people spamming links and fighting will be banned. The use of bizarre English slang that we don't understand constitutes fighting.[/b']

Not sure how much truth there is in it, but it's all kicking off at Liverpool.

Our two current owners are desperately trying to keep the club despite putting it in massive debt. Liverpool have received two bids for the club, one of which is apparently from John Henry.

Any news over there about this?

Thanks.

Greetings from planet Liverpool Red Sox fans!

I was only planning on reading this thread and didn't intend on posting when I first logged onto the site. However after this message of the mod's and then the football fans trying their best to prove that we are all really quite pleasant but all there is is bickering I just had to post something as it made me laugh. Then there was a warning about if football fans want to come here then thats fine but there shall be no fighting etc. now that realy did make me laugh.

However the reason I have posted is too just inform you that the storys about football fans in general are only relavent to a very small minority of fans. All clubs all over Europe will have a small minority who do not represent the majority of football fans. Football hoolaginism is a thing of the past, as in the 1980's, the rest of the morons that like to cause trouble are as I said in a very small minority.

There seems to be a number of posters on this forum who seem to want to insult the Sox fans, but I can assure you that these people will most probably not be LFC fans, if they are then I apologise and assure you they are very few and far between.

While I am here I would just like to say that when / if the deal goes through that maybe we can have a good amable relationship between both sets of fans.

Can any of the lads here confirm your ticket price please?

I've just read the following .............

"One issue they may have with Henry, though, is the cost of getting into the place. Ticket prices at Fenway Park are among the most expensive in the Major League, with the average cost being in the region of $45"

Yeah, they are pretty much up there mate. The Monster seats are very sought after and can go for $200 a pop! But, they sell out Fenway every game, rain or shine!

It holds around 37K and is usually a good time when I go. The Company I work for had a "Employee Appreciation Day" there and it was a good time!

Look I can quote across forums too!

I see their Admins over there have seen us. I wonder if they are yet to realise the idiot scousers they are dealing with though?

Should we all join their site and trash it? (Kidding' date=' nobody think of doing it)[/quote']

Anyone who tries to start a forum invasion gets banned. That's always been a rule.

I don't understand why we're suddenly seeing hundreds of English soccer fans. It really has nothing to do with the Red Sox. They'll be gone in a few days.

Slightly before my time but I recall reading through the chaos that was the LA Dodgers forum invasion.

Because your owners are trying to buy us, and their offer has been accepted by the board, if not the owners. Most Liverpool fans came here to see what kind of owners this group is like, the trolls are just sad individuals.

Once the deal is done, most soccer fans will disappear as quick as they arrived.

I keep seeing Ted Williams.

Teddy Ball game. It's great sitting in the red seat at Fenway and looking back towards home plate. A f***ing LONG damn way to hit a baseball with a wood bat!

A Sox Legend not unlike our own "CrazyHorse" or many of our Legends!!!!

I would like to ask the same thing but I can't make a new thread. So I'm trying to get my post count up to 15 at minute, not spamming though. ;)

Can we lock the door and throw away the key? :dunno:

You'll have to do it before half time if they're 2-0 down, though.

The purpose of the 15 post limit isn't to have people spam the site until they hit 15. If all you want to do is post a link I suggest you just move on.

I`d say the links they want to post are related to the accusations leveled at Liverpool supperters today.

I'd agree, Soxs fans we come in peace were all (well the majority of us) good lads looking to learn and spread the hand of Liverpool FC friendship ... you will see in time.

The strange thing about all this? I don't recall this happening on Rangers forums after Hicks took over.

Out of interest, how is Hicks perceived by yourselves?

Apologies, I thought you had to have 15 to post a new thread. I did have a link in my post though, but was just the website I'm doing so research for top use in an article -ThisIsAnfield.com

Well, I think that you are wrong on that one ... As you probably know, there is already in place a strategic partnership between Manchester United FC (our biggest rivals/enemies) and the New York Yankees ... This partnership was created in order to achieve a world-wide commercial domination in the sport's markets ... If Henry's bid to buy Liverpool FC is successful, we would be able to create an even stronger commercial alliance (Liverpool FC & the Red Sox), and we would be able to challenge them commercially all over the world ... Especially in the emerging Asian markets, where Liverpool FC is already a strong brand ... As always, it is all about money ... Lets hope that we would be smarter and that we will overtake the evil empire ... ;)

They played really good football until about a couple of years ago. No London team has yet won the European Champions League though.

I don't think anyone knew what we were in for, or expected the mess H&G are leaving behind. Once burned, twice shy, and all that. I've certainly see a few 'pool posts on Rangers forums, but the trolls were asleep under their bridges. Maybe they're worried we might be getting sensible successful owners now?

It's not just the problems H&G caused, it's the manner in which they did it, and how they conducted their business. I think most Liverpool fans are twitchy. Personally, it was the lying about not dumping their takeover debt onto the club, and paying themselves massive deferred compound interest, all while draining the club of funds to service the debt. We all saw what the Gazers did, and certainly didn't want any of that. Which is precisely what H&G said wouldn't happen, and exactly what they did.

As to the broken promises about new stadiums etc, that's clearly down to the global financial collapse. There's little point in bleating on about that.

I wonder how much they're kicking themselves they didn't accept the DIC offer of around UKP500m

I decided to be an Arsenal fan after I got into soccer, cause they play really pretty soccer (sorry, we have the better football) and because they don't buy their entire roster like a lot of other sports teams (Man City, Barca, Real Madrid, New York Yankees) do.

Wenger is the manager of Arsenal. He gets a reputation as a whiner, because he usually complains that his players are getting attacked by thugs on the pitch (which has some merit, but he does complain a bit excessively).

The Champions League is a competition of the best soccer clubs in Europe, based upon how they finished in their league the previous year and how good their league is.

Which has a huge worldwide audience and is very lucrative - millions.

Excellent knowledge, right down to Man City. Nice one

And soccer is an English word anyway B)
