I'm both a Liverpool and Red Sox fan, I've browsed this forum for a while but I've never registered but some of the stuff being written on this thread compels me to do so.
First, the burning of the American flag was done in an unsanctioned protest by a few people, they aren't representing the fanbase as a whole and were widely condemned by our fanbase upon doing it.
On the supporters, I'd suggest if people want to find out about Heysel then they should read up on it from some credible sources, it's a dark day in our history but to pretend that we were the only ones with a hooligan element in our fanbase is just untrue.
On the chants that a small minority of fans sing, they are vile and they are sung by a small element at away games. Rewatch the recent Man Utd - Liverpool game to hear at huge amount of Old Trafford chant about us being 'murderers'.
I appreciate that fans of other football teams don't like us, but don't call us hysterical, anti-American or hooligans. The anti-American chants were just shorthand for Hicks and Gillet, not for the country as a whole. Please do not think otherwise.
