Burnett can't catch a break tonight. If the ball doesn't hit him, Blalock is out with the MIF trying to hold Upton back.

2 runs. 0 well-struck balls. Such is baseball.

Eh, he's gotten some bad breaks, but he's done this to himself with his inability to throw strikes.

Nice throw from Cervelli. Couldn't have happened to a better character from Jersey Shore.

I disagree. He got Upton and Blalock to hit balls on the ground that in normal circumstances should have been handled, and the double by Jaso was on swing that was way behind, and he just deposited a bloop into left.

Well I wasn't just talking about this inning, but rather the outing as a whole.

I was talking about the inning, but now Crawford smokes one.

And this will only continue. Their long man is Vazquez who they don't want to go to. Sometimes you have to lose the battle to win the war, and they need at least six from AJ tonight.

And Joe is going to stick with Burnett too long tonight to give them a legitimate chance to win.

No don't give us a legitimate chance, we'd rather come into your house and steal one. (or 2...)

This post is brought to you by Massengill, for those not so fresh days.

Who went down tonight?

Thames sprained his ankle stepping on a bat (can't make this stuff up), but, more importantly, they took an MRI on Posada's foot and he's going to be out 3-4 weeks with a hairline fracture.

:lol::lol:

I'm laughing because none of the Sox fans here will ever say that.

Haha, I mean, I don't think they'll sustain this level of starting pitching success, but there's not much doubt in my mind that they're the best team in baseball.

Yup.

What people will say is that the pitching is over-performing, and when the Sox and Yanks get healthy, if their pitching slumps, all bets are off.

Before the extreme attempts at back-patting, we should wait and see just where will the actual performance of their pitching staff end up.

Not to mention it's not a "Sox fan" thing, it't a numbers thing. A 2.70 team ERA is unsustainable.
