I'll tell you' date=' I love having Francisco Cervelli in the lineup right now. Would much rather he be in the lineup than Winn. He plays great defense, has good speed and is an absolute pest at the plate. He wont hit .400 for the entire yr. Hell, he probably wont finish over .300 on the yr, but he just doesnt give up at bats. He'll bunt, he'll battle, he'll run. Keeps you on your toes, and he is directly responsible for that run[/quote']

He doesn't have any pop, but he's very much like Gardner in that they'll both find some amount of success at the plate because they both have good approaches.

Mijares pitched last night' date=' champ. So did Duensing and his sub-2.00 ERA, [b']who was actually warm in the 7th.[/b]

Fair enough. I think we established a long time that people generally don't like it when you call them champ. In the future, don't call me champ.

Yep, they do. I'll take a battler any day of the week.

I think we've generally established that people don't like it when they are called another person's "echo" or anything of the sort. You respect that, no champ from me.

Weird, he held it there, and then move towards the dugout. If he was trying to show up the umpire, he would have just left right away I think.

And as I type this, they're talking about it on the broadcast.

3 innings strong for Andy. If he shows he is strong and uninjured' date=' then a lot of fears will be allayed[/quote']I guess the latest round of shots were effective.

I'm dead serious. And that's my line.

I know it's your line; that's why I used it. Get off this knight in shining armor s***.

Nice velocity on Liriano's fastball' date=' but where's the slider?[/quote']

Two really nice ones to get Teixeira and A-Rod (especially the one to A-Rod).

Those looked like changeups to me. The ones to Cano were sliders, but they aren't falling anywhere near the zone.

My initial reaction was that they were sliders, and Gameday concurs (same with the pitch to finish Thames). Rarely will you see the catcher set up inside for a changeup.

Just when I tout Cervelli's approach, he goes and slaps at the first pitch. Cmon man, Liriano is at 59 pitches through 3, get that pitch count up and get Gurrier back in there, especially against ARod
