I'd wait a bit before proclaiming that the 2007 version of Joba is back. Now' date=' his last two outings are very promising, but, in my opinion, those are his only outings this year that have looked like his 2007 outings.[/quote']

Havent seen the triple digits, but seeing a consistent 96-97mph fastball and a slider in the 88-90mpg range is much more akin to his prior performance. This guy might just be a better pitcher at full tilt. ANd he is getting comfortable. In his last 7 outings, he's thrown 6.1IP, allowed no runs, 2 hits, 2 walks and 8K's. And, after his first 3 outings, where he allowed 2ER, he has been brilliant. 12.2IP, 8H, 2ER, 3BB 15K.

Listening to Kay and Singleton talk about how Jack Morris and his slightly above average career ERA should be a HOF lock, based on purely anecdotal evidence, is painful.

Oh, I'm not disagreeing with you, and I'm very optimistic, but I just want to see the consistency over a longer period.

Listening to Sterling talk about how the sox are gonna drop David Ortiz soon is just painful as well. Yeah John, might want to research a bit before looking dumb. As a platoon DH, he's got an OPS near 1. Yep, Theo is prepping the release papers. Can the Tigers lock the doors and flood the Yankee broadcast booth? Please? It's like listening to a couple of third graders debate the tastiness of twinkies and ho-hos.

Fantastic, some of the hitters do a great job working Verlander's PC, considering his shotty control thus far, and now everyone is hacking at the first pitch.

Cano has been in a bit of a funk since Joe Morgan nominated him for the hall of fame. 7 for his last 36 with only 1 RBI .

CC's April struggles might be just coming a bit late this year. He hasn't been particularly sharp in four of his last five starts, and in the other one, he only struck out two guys, and benefitted from facing a poor hitting team.

3-0 spud. CC gives up a check swing RBI single then gets taken deep twice

Yeah just fixed it.

I'm just flipping between stations.

The Yankees are in some serious trouble if this is serious. The injuries have really ambushed the Yankees this year.

Looks like he was shaking his hand on 1st. I thought the pitch hit him in the forearm.

I think he's OK.

Also, do you guys think that Cabrerra has lost some weight?

Jeter is still in the lineup. No worries. Seriously, though, how many injuries can a team take? Also, giving Swisher a day off against Verlander even though he is sore sounds like a poor choice. Winn and Golson in the 8-9 hole is worse than most NL teams 8-9 hitters

Are either of these guys worse than Hall?

Hughes is a great pitcher but eventually his .213 BABIP is going to explode on him and he'll revert to this 3.86 xFIP.

A 3.86 xFIP from the guy who was the 5th starter at the beginning of the season? I'll take that.

When his BABIP normalizes, the homers rise. His ERA would be in the mid-3s. Big deal

It's hard to feel bad for the Yankees when the Red Sox have been missing two members of their lineup for almost a month now. A few guys on the Yankees are banged up, but Granderson's the worst injury the Yankees have had to deal with this year, and he's only been out 11 games so far.

Johnson is out too.

Saying Nick Johnson is out, is like saying Angie Jolie adopted another kid. Could you ever count Nick Johnson in? He takes a lot of stints to the DL, he just wasn't a reliable signing.

they got him with the hopes that DHing would keep him away from the injury bug. The wrist hadnt been his problem for about 5 yrs or so. The prior stuff had been lower body/ fluke injuries (femur fractures dont happen every day). Now that this wrist injury has crept back into his life, I have to assume he's done. Until Montero starts getting hot, we might need another bat, or hope that Miranda can find it

It's not necessarily the severity of the injuries, but the amount of them. Granderson, Johnson, Posada, Rivera, Pettitte, and Park. Either way, it's no reason to complain because it's part of the game, and certainly no one should feel bad for the Yankees.

Yet again, Gardenhire finds a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Start the 7th with a clearly tired Baker, then bring Matt Guerrier to face A-Rod (A-Rod's 6-4 against the guy with THREE HOME RUNS). Grand Slam, 7-4 Yanks in the 7th.

Dipre, I 've told you several times before that I will not watch the Twins play the Yanks. It's like watching a bad movie over and over and hoping for the ending to change. Gardenhire will always find a way to blow games to the Yanks. I have had arguments with people about Gardenhire. I'm not interested in debating his managerial record or skill. I'm tired of watching this show. He's done it again.

Not only that, Jeter hit a ball off the anatomy of Baker, meaning he may have been injured and may lose a turn in the rotation or worse. Way to go Suckenhire.

Rivera missed 2 games with stiffness and Pettitte's skipped one start. As for Johnson, and Posada, what did you expect? Johnson's never healthy. In 10 years as a regular, he's played in 135 games once. And Posada's a 38 year old catcher who hasn't stayed healthy since 2007. Besides, his absence has been great for the team. Cervelli's second on the team in OPS and he's batting .750 with runners in scoring position.
