No' date=' I think Jackson tends to overrate Yankee prospects, but he wants to create a foundation of young talent like the late 90's Yankees.[/quote']Those Yankee teams had Bernie, Jeter, Mo, Pettiite and Posada. The catcher , SS, CF, one starter and the closer. Impressive yes, but the other 4 starting pitchers, bullpen and position players were stars brought in from other teams. Most were brought in by using overrated prospects that were never heard from again.

Santana: 2.85 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, 135 K, 44 BB

Mussina: 3.27 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, 96 K, 20 BB

Closer than I thought, but I'll take Santana 11 times out of 10.

If they are both on the same staff, who gets the ball to pitch game 1 of a short series? Anyone who answers Moose is not thinking clearly or is just plain dumb, and jackson is not dumb.

Here's what it comes down to, in terms of the argument that has been going on here (not the one about Moose). Gom, you are the definition of a spoiled Yankee fan. The team makes the postseason every single year, and one year it doesn't look good and you abandon the team and kill Cashman for not trading away all his prospects.

I would have done the Santana deal, but man, it really is Yankee fans like you that make the rest look so bad to everyone else. It is not their f***ing destiny to make the postseason every year. Sometimes it doesn't work out. Am I pissed about it? Yeah. Should you be pissed about it? Yeah. But should you say the s*** that you have been saying over the past 4-5 pages in this thread? No.

Milton, Westbrook, Guzman were three prospects that have done pretty well in their careers. 4 AS games between them. Ricky Ledee and Zach Day were two other MLBers dealt. We got Knoblauch and Justice for them.

That's a pretty good return. I think you have just bolstered Gom's theory that the farm system is mainly useful as trading chips.

:)

Kind of obvious for anyone who actually understands the game. Who am I to speak, right?

I'm guessing the Yankees are losing? Good. f*** them. The more they lose, the smaller the chance Cashman is employed by the Yankees come this off-season.

DRAFT PICK' date=' DRAFT PICK!!![/quote']

Shut up. It's this kind of thinking that caused this s*** in the first place. You and Cashman should go to the Marlins.

If the Yankees lose' date=' wow.[/quote']

Why? Has there ever been a Yankee team that showed such a glass chin during the season in the last 12 years? If this team doesn't have a five run lead, they give up. Like I said, it's all over but the shouting.

I'm saying it *could* be the final nail.

Marlon Byrd put the final nail in the coffin with the grand slam in Texas off of Marte. We're just seeing the body decompose at this point.
