The point is Markakis is playing for a lot less money than Drew. And is actually a much better player at this stage in their careers.

It's kind of ironic to take a swipe at Drew with a player who is performing worse than him this year. Drew has been worth his money this year.

I'm not taking a swipe at Drew. I'm merely saying that Markakis is a better player whose salary isn't nearly as high. Drew is having a good season. I'm not disputing that.

Not this year.

When did I accuse you of taking a swipe at Drew? You opined after Spudboy's comment about, "NOW THERE'S A RF WORTH HIS SALARY." That was an obvious swipe at Drew, but when you look at that statistics, the logical conclusion to reach is that Drew has been worth his salary, and then some. The fact that he makes $14 million, makes his feat even more impressive.

Yankees never throw no-hitters on the road. Larsen' date=' Righetti, Abbott, Gooden, Wells, Cone, all in Bronx. Last: Reynolds '51[/quote']

Andy Hawkins (kinda).

I agree. He's earned his paycheck this year. Despite the lower OPS, you could make an argument that Markakis is having a better year, though.

Markakis has over 100 more plate appearances, 68 more total bases, and 36 more RBIs in a worse lineup than Drew.

I know you're going to say that RBIs is a team dependent stat, rendering it meaningless. The Red Sox team OPS is .803. The Orioles team OPS is .755. Markakis is producing more with less around him.

That said, Fangraphs indicates that Drew is having much better year in RF than Markakis.

In the worse RF to play in the majors.

Yeah if a no hitter happens before the end of the season he is exactly who I want to do it.

Me too.

He could really use the confidence.

I wonder if Dice-K pitched a 9 inning no hitter how many pitches he would have to throw?

Haha, that is a great question. I would say about 130.

The question is, if he was throwing a 100 pitch nono through 6 would Tito leave him in?

We've already had Buehrle and Sanchez' date='.[/quote']

He meant another one in what's left of the season, man.
