You know Spud, I also think the guy is a puke too, but at the same time I will always have a strong attachment for him. I saw him in person a good half-dozen times beat the Yankees in both Fenway and YS, and he was the key and difference for my favorite of all Red Sox teams, the 2007 one. He was the best pitcher in baseball that year and why they gave the Cy Young to CC over Josh still puzzles me. In fact after the voting was in we saw those two go at each other in the ALCS that year, and while Sab got the crap knocked out him Josh was almost unhittable.

 

I will also be grateful to Beckett for that season. I think he was something like 14-2 in games I saw him pitch in Boston, New York and San Diego and Anaheim.
