© We are, indeed, sick pups that all hail from the psychiatric ward of the Bellevue Hospital in New York and it just so happened that we weren't allowed to go online during the time of the Yankee game and had to look at ink blots instead to discover the true workings of our inner, crazy, thoughts.

The funny farm doesn't seem like much fun.

This could be the result of one of the following:

(a) We were posting on Yankee forums about the Yankees (makes sense, doesn't it?)

(B) We were enjoying the game and win without having to read Sox fans (ahem like you :harhar: ) bash every single inch of the organization

Yeah, I usually just use this thread during the game to say something important about the game. I don't treat it like a game thread.

Went to the game, nice to see Rodriguez heat up and Kelly get a few hits with Jorge out of the lineup. That's how you do it. That's how you debate.

A-rod always heats up in Blow-out games with GARBAGE pitchers on the mound. Affeldt? Sisco?..lol..and LHP's to boot. A-rod is a GREAT player..no doubt about it..the thing is..When it is a 1 or 2 run game..LATE..he CHOKES. He presses too hard and he chokes. What is worse, now he thinks unless he gets a BIG HIT in a World Series game or ALCS to spurn the Yankees on to a Title...he feels he will never be embraced as a "True Yankee"..whatever that is? I mean what is a "True Yankee?" Is it a Steroid Freak like Giambi or Sheffroid? Is it a coke-snorting crackhead like Doc Gooden? Just what does A-rod have to do to become a True Yankee? I mean unlike Jeter he does not bang everything he sees.. He actually has some moral fiber and is married with a child. Maybe if he was more like womanizing philanderers like Dimaggio and Mantle, he would be more loved by the Yankee Fans. All A-rod has done is put up MVP numbers every year with the Yankees while being a model citizen.. Yankee fans are so classy right? ********..Yankee fans are shallow simpletons with nary a clue about the game they profess to love.

A Yankee is defined on the field, not off.

Look at Reggie Jackson, he was constantly in controversy due to his arguements with teammates, etc. He was still a great Yankee because of how he played, consistantly, the time he was there. Jeter is the same way, a career .300 regular season hitter, a career (almost 162 games, basically numbers just rounded out) .300 hitter.

A-Rod hasn't done enough to outweigh the amount of drama he had coming to New York. A lot of these guys never had that drama, Jeter was drafted and brought up slowly, Williams didn't have much pressure.. A-Rod had and has all that hype to fulfill, and he hasn't.

Especially when the Yankees are still seeing Big Papi hit clutch homeruns for a third the price.

A-rod jhasn't lived up to the hype? MVP trophies are given out to 1 person in each league, each year. A-rod wil easily pass Hank Aaron unless he suffers a catastrophic injury. He was also a GG SS and is still probably the best SS the Yankees have. A-rod's numbers DWARF Jeters and NOBODY will say Derek Jeter was a better player than A-rod when all is said and done.

When A-rod hangs em up, he will be recognized as one of, if not THE best players of all time.

Just because A-rod didn't play on Jeter's Title teams doesn't mean Jeter is a superior player. A-rod is better in almost every facet of the game. And in some categories it is not even close. I would be willing to wager that every Championship Team Jeter played on would have STILL been a Championship team had A-rod and not Jeter been the starting SS.

I don't think anyone says that now... at least no anybody with any credibility.

I agree rbreg, but let me add a little from a different slant. A-Rod has always been an exceptional athelete and put up the numbers. His problem is results. No WS rings. He was at Seattle surrounded by Allstars and I believe they made the play-offs once. Texas, pretty much the same thing. Yankees, they carried him to the play-offs. My point is how many game winning, tying, and go ahead hits does he have. It comes down to being clutch. He reminds me of Ted Williams ( great man, geat hitter ) who never won anything except tittles. So until A-Rod contributes to a tittle, I really can't consider him "The Man".

Well Arod actually (at least as the start of the game yesterday) has the most game winning RBIs in the AL with 9. Ortiz has 6.

Now NomahsHammSammich-

Congratulations on one of the most ignorant posts to pollute this board! I agree with the heating up in blow out games and putting too much pressure on himself late in the game, but the rest of your monologue there was a bit outrageous. As rbreg7 said, a "True Yankee" is defined on the field, not off of it. Look at the great Yankee teams of all time. The '27 Championship Yankees had guys like Ruth and Gehrig: true Yankees. The '56 Championship team: Yogi Berra, Elston Howard, Mickey Mantle, Whitey Ford. And so on and so on. All those guys are winners and exceptional players. Now I don't know how you jump from Arod being a model citizen to trashing Yankee fans but I will say that it's a bit ironic that you are judging how classy and aware of the game someone is.

The Yankees are keeping a close eye on pitchers Dontrelle Willis, Kelvim Escobar, Jason Schmidt, Livan Hernandez and Tim Hudson says the New York Post. Willis, Escobar and Schmidt are all in the final year of their respective contracts. ... Newsday suggests New York may have a difficult time trading for any star player since they lack the major-league-ready talent most teams are seeking in return. ... According to the Post the Yankees may start looking to trade for a catcher with Jorge Posada expected to land on the disabled list with a knee injury.

pitching change already in the 1st inning. Some guy named Keppel replaceing Hernandez

That sums up the entire Royals pitching staff. "Some guys". Seriously, my stepdads softball team could beat these guys.

The Royals really shouldn't be allowed in the MLB. They should only be able to play AAA teams, where they still would struggle but would get a couple more wins down there.

Wow. Not only can they not pitch, they apparently cant run bases.

The Royals must stand outside Kauffman every day and stop passerby.

"Hey...you wanna play in the Major Leagues?"

Like sleazy watch salesmen.
