I believe we are getting the Royals in New York while they're on a 13 Game skid, while we've won like 15 striaght vs them at home. something like that.

Wow...if the Yankees can(please god) sweep the Royals, they have to play the Athletics and then the Mariners....could they break their streak of last year

The royals are so pathetic but the yanks only get them 6 times I believe while the sox play them 9 times.

nah, we get them 9 times, 6 at home and 3 on the road...

the umps have helped the royals big time. Berroa and Phillips took strike 3 and Grafannino was out at 2nd on a steal, yet it all went the other way. You give a team 6 outs and any MLB team will score some runs...

Man, you complain about umpires like nobody I've ever seen before.

the Royals lineup is friggen horendous. I mean Mientkiewicz is batting 3rd.

Only respectable hitters are Grudz, Sanders and Costa.

I see the calls on the TV and if they are wrong then s***, we get f***ed. When they are wrong 3 times in one inning, then there is a problem...

You act like the Yankees have never gotten a call before -- the problem comes when you're expecting every single 50/50 call to go the way of the Yankees.

one call here or there is annoying but what can you do. 3 calls in one inning? Cmon man, you would be bitching off the wall if it was against your team. We should be down 1-0, period...

Congrats to Jeter on his 200 hit even though it was a real cheapie aided by the home town official scorer. It's been a pattern in NY that the press actively aids and creates the myth of Captain Intangibles. The shot of the stands shows his father shaking his head "no" thinking it was probably an error. C'mon, Poppa jeter, you should know that the press will always help out your son.

Oh, I am sorry I must have missed the clean hit. My eyes saw a squib that the 3B threw into the stands, and when the throw went by 1st, Jeter was still a full step away. Silly me to question the home town call. If it had been ARod, the NY press and fans would have crucified him and taken away a hit.

BTW I think DJ would probably like to remember a cleaner hit when he looks at that ball in years to come.

No relevance. I was just joking.

Go to the tape if you have it taped. I'm not the only one on these boards that heard it. It went something like this: Leiter: "I think I'd give him a 'B'". Kay: (Derisively) "A 'B'?" Slight chuckling from Singleton. Leiter: "What? A 'B+' ... maybe? Kay: That's very generous.

Now , I may not have the conversation verbatim, but I believe that I have captured the essence.

My mistake.

You're right. Now that you broke it down like that I remember. But I think he was kidding when he said B+
