Not a knock on him. The Warriors are an historically good team, and Lebron's team is horrible. He won tonight with his 2nd best player being JEFF GREEN...

The Rockets are winning tomorrow night.

Celtics kicked the game away with sloppy shooting and selfish play. Smart, Rozier, and Morris should all be traded. You cannot win with guys who are that bad at shooting yet that insistent that they be the ones to take the shot. I don't care what we get back, our team will be better for subtracting them outright.

Well, if Brown wasn’t missing wide open shots maybe he’d gotten the ball more in the 2nd half? Tatum can’t take all the shots. Both Brown & Rozier couldn’t shoot a lick tonight. That killed us.

I love Smart’s hustle, not sure why you’d want to trade him? Rozier will be nice coming off the bench next year. Or I guess they could trade him. He’s a nice depth piece. Morris I can do without. He’s a bit bone-headed at times. Fact of the matter is, they obviously needed another reliable scoring option like Kyrie. They played their asses off. Great foundation for next season.

Brown's a future all-star who had an unusually s***** game (typically when his shot isn't falling he reels it in but not tonight for some reason, guess he panicked) but can still be productive if his shot isn't falling. Can't say the same for the guys I posted about.

Rozier is trash if his shot isn't falling, as seen tonight. Gives you literally nothing. He can't come off the bench next year because Kyrie is coming back and a role demotion would stunt his development. Trading him is the only option. Quite frankly he deserves a seat in the Boston sports choker hall of fame after that.

I already said why I want to trade Smart. He's a terrible shooter who thinks he's Stephen Curry. He hurts us badly enough on offense to negate every other good thing he does. Confidence of Manny Ramirez, ability of Darnell McDonald. We don't need those wasted possessions anymore. As long as guys like that are on our team sabotaging us with their ********, we're not going to make the leap to true title contender.

I have to let the dust settle I think while I gather my thoughts. Hope Danny does too. What I take away from this is that Jason Tatum is on the verge and will become a great player in this league. I like Smart. I get the fact that he does not shoot the ball well but he does so many other things that very few others will do that he is very valuable. If the Celtics choose not to pay him, someone else will. It said a lot last night about both Rozier and Brown that when the game was really on the line, both of them were not on the floor together very much. Brown disappeared and Rozier showed us why we need to have Irving out there as much as possible. Nonetheless it was a great year for a young team. One of the differences that I saw last night between Brown and Smart was that when James went to the hoop, Brown waved at him and ducked while Smart took two charges. I prefer that type of player whether he shoots well or not.

Have to add here though that as much as I like what Smart has to give, if he thinks that he is going to get 14plus million from the Celtics - he is living in a dream world.

But with the exception of Brown, These guys Rozier and Smart and even Morris... to me they’re bench pieces. They wouldn’t normally start or even get as many minutes as they did if we had our full roster. They played so many minutes because WE HAD TO PLAY THEM. They absolutely have flaws. But coming off the bench for next season, one could do worse. Way worse. Really really f***ing way worse. That’s my only point. Think about it. Our bench practically took us to one game away from the Finals. It wasn’t ideal. But certainly one could gleem some positives out of what transpired.

Nailed it.

They dominated Philly and went 7 with LeBron. That's a sweet bench.

Rozer to me is 100% a trade piece. He's gonna want to start somewhere, and this situation reminds me a lot of the Reggie Jackson/Westbrook situation in OKC a few years ago. Jackson was talented but stuck behind a star point guard, Westbrook got hurt, Jackson filled in, and performed well, Thunder tried making Westbrook/Jackson play together and it just didn't work out. Rozier reminds me a lot of Jackson, I feel like he gets dealt in the off season.

Can the NBA at least make it a little less obvious that they want the Warriors in the finals? This refereeing is atrocious

Reminds me of the 02 Lakers/Kings WCF. This is pathetic. I don't even want to watch this anymore.

I'm not watching the finals.

The NBA sucks.

I get what you guys are saying, but the Rockets 3-point shooting doomed them as well. 7 for 44 overall, and an incredibly bad 1 for 21 in the second half.

That is some epic bricklaying for one of the best teams in the NBA.

True, but their momentum was shattered by countless horrific calls- all in Golden State's favor.

I'm totally done with the NBA... probably forever.

(I'm not even a Rockets Fan!)

My 21-year old daughter is a big basketball fan and she has been convinced for years that some NBA games are fixed. So that's pretty sad.

The Rockets struggled in the 3rd quarter, but part of that was literally all they could do was take 3's, if they drove, they got no calls whatsoever. And during that 1-21 stretch, James Harden did make a three, while being fouled and the refs inexplicably called it "not in the act of shooting". It was atrocious

Watch this video.. and even listen to Reggie Miller and the TNT announcers

Celtics have interest in Mo Bamba - very interesting. You can't coach height.

True, but height is not synonymous with talent.

Posted (edited)

Bamba's probably a smokescreen. The Celtics supposedly described Fultz as a "transcendent" point guard before trading the pick last year, while we didn't hear a peep about Tatum before draft day. Jaylen Brown flew under the radar in 2016, the lead-up to that draft was all trade rumors about the #3 pick for Hayward/Jimmy Butler/Paul George.

If Bamba is the guy though, he's a project. His defense is good, his athleticism and mobility are good, but he can't shoot, can't rebound, gets pushed around down low, and apparently he's a bad screener. That seems like a lot of holes for a guy that you'd be trading up to get, but these guys know more than we do.

Very true. Kind of comes right down to what a team needs. Not sure what Ainge is apt to do. Maybe nothing but I doubt that. Both Rozier and Brown are likely to be playing fewer minutes next year if they are bout here. it is going to possibly be an interesting off season.

No it's not, but the kid is a projected lottery pick for a reason.

He's also 7'1 with a 7'10 wingspan. You just can't teach that. He would instantly be a rebounding blocking machine in the NBA. His only caveat is his offensive game isn't as developed as his defensive game. But the Celtics don't need scorers with Kyrie and Hayward coming back. Bamba can also shoot the 3 which is unique for abig man like him. He resembles Joel Emblid in many ways.

But the narrative in here that Bamba is a smokescreen is very plausible, Danny Ainge is very good at not showing his hand.

But I'd love me some Bamba.

I don't know s*** about this guy but no way in hell Danny trades up for a Great White Dope.

Porzingous was an anomaly. Most of these types don't pan out. What was that guy for the sixers? Shawn Bradley? Oh yeah. He was f***ing great.

This guy is not ready for a diet of NBA now. At least from what J_E says and I trust he knows what he is talking about.

Guys like this can be had in the second round. Let the bottom feeders like the sixers toil with schlock like this guy.

The chances are that this guy is more Hank Finkle and Tom Boerwinkle than Lew Alcindor or Anthony Davis.

Nope, I don't get excited about this s***. Danny is f***ing with other teams and their nitwit execs.

Three times Harden was fouled while shooting a 3. One was not called and the other two were ruled "not in the act of shooting". He got those calls all year, then suddenly no. The league/refs decide it's Golden State vs Cleveland, and that's it.

Eric Gordon's drive to the hoop met with a body slam no call was the final straw.

I've been away from the NBA for a while, but started watching again this year as my Bucks looked promising (on paper). I used to pay for the NBA ticket.

I'm done with the NBA, forever!

I can see the interest in Bamba. His height & wingspan alone could help on defense, in that a team like the Celtics may not have to double-team in the post as much and can focus on backcourt perimeter defense. His frame could be a blessing. Could also be a curse. He might want to bulk up a little bit. Not so much as to become too slow, but ... I’d worry about him getting hurt. He may not seem fragile in college, but the nba could eat him up quick. He’s drawing a lot of crazy dumb comparisons. I wished the media stopped over-hyping every player that comes into the league, but they’ve been doing that since Jordan retired for good. Would I take him? Yeah sure. But I’m not sure what kind of trade-up package I’d offer. Jaylen Brown is good right now and I expect him to get even better. Not sure I’d send him packing for a “maybe” at this point.
