That was the craziest ending to a game I've ever seen. Tough loss, Jbay. It was a great season, though. You know the Wizards will be back next year.

Just saw this now, but yeah, that game was absolutely ridiculous. Its so disappointing that Wall missed time and couldn't play 100% because of his wrist and you hate to hear Pierce talking about retirement, I can't imagine him going out like that. Wiz will be fine though, Wall, Beal and Porter are all getting better, hopefully Pierce gives it another year and we can get a few shooters off the bench, aside from Beal and Pierce, I am not confident in any jump shooter on that team.

So the NBA is going to s***. Jae Crowder got $35M out of the Celtics and f***ing Al-Farouq Aminu got $30M out of Portland. Guys like Draymond Green and Khris Middleton are getting $70-80M. League's gonna crash in 20 years. Edited by Jacoby_Ellsbury

Basically the first NBA game I've watched all year is this slug fest between Golden State and OKC. Reminds me why I lost interest in the NBA, and why right now, the college game is so much better: The NBA seems to have never heard of defense.

If you didn't enjoy that Warriors/OKC game, you probably just dont enjoy basketball. That game was absolutely absurd and amazing to watch. Stephen Curry is doing the type of things that make you question if he is even human. As for defense being played, there was a lot of it. Westbrook did everything he could on Steph, the dude just doesn't miss.. Not to mention Draymond Green is arguably the best defender in the NBA and his fingerprints were all over that game despite only scoring 3 points.

I really hope to see these two teams play in the playoffs, there is so much talent on both teams and that game was best regular season game I ever seen.

That post was before the 4th quarter, OT, and Curry's half court GW. I take it back.

The NBA's seen better days. It's basically euroball now. Keeping tabs on the Warriors' push for 73 wins is more entertaining than actually watching the games.

And at least for me, even their quest for 73 will be postponed in a week or so for March Madness.

Yup.

I miss the old school NBA where low post play and drives to the basket were not discouraged.

I did enjoy the old ABA with the tri-colored ball and Screamn' Leamans. But watching NBA players bombing away from 35 ft does nothing to enhance the game.

Just my opinion.

I put a lot of blame on ESPN. Their NBA telecasts suck on ice. The commercial volume is always noticeably higher than the game volume, and the crowd noise is almost completely stifled in favor of the commentary mics. It was just barely tolerable before the on-court product turned into a complete shitshow; now it's criminal and depressing. And it's not going to get any better because they have a new ten year contract going into effect next year!

I can't wait for ESPN's death. The employee exodus has already started and it's getting harder and harder for the general populace to ignore their waning bank of entertainment ideas and skeevy business practices.

ABA and Connie Hawkins. For people who never saw him play - just makes you understand how people can actually do the things they do.

I met The Hawk at the Wild Shootout at B.U. in '72 I believe. THE LARGEST HAND that I ever shook! He was the coach for the Pittsburgh team.

I was a huge Hawk fan. Maybe the greatest player ever. But we will never know because he got screwed. Of course I met the next best thing in Julius Erving when he played in Amherst at The Cage.

An iconic moment. Like getting in A-Roid's face. I can never see those two plays too much.

Remember Larry and the Doc? I actually can remember the night that Chamberlain thought about going after Cousy. We all understood why we Jim Luscotoff(sp) playing for our side.

I don't mind 35 ft bombs. I just hate that there is no flow to most games due to excessive timeouts and fouls. The C's used to be my second favorite Boston team, but I struggle to watch a full game nowadays. At most, I just try to tune in for the last 3 minutes if the game is close and it usually ends up being excruciating.

The game has changed at the NBA level dramatically. I was spoiled cheering for the celtics during all of their glory days. Many of their teams had 3 to 5 all-stars competing night in and night out.

Does nobody care about Kobe's career final game? I realize that he and the Lakers are the "enemy", but for those who are basketball fans, don't you have to give props to a great career and an great way to go out?

Great talent, of course.

I just don't get how his rape case is forgotten so easily.

He was not convicted, true. But he was guilty of something.

Fans have their values screwed up.

Lifelong Lakers fan here, but I have a weird relationship with the Lakers, just like I do with the Pats. Love the Pats and Lakers, hate Brady, dislike Kobe.

I was unaware of his rape case. Or maybe I was aware at one time and forgot about it.

If he did in fact rape someone, then shame on him and double shame on the fans that root for him.

Kimmi: He went into a hotel room with a 17 year old girl who was a concierge at the hotel. He stuck his penis in her vagina, then sodomized her ( anal ).

She reported it. He denied it. He was charged ( his DNA was present ). He said it was consensual. Then his rich boy lawyers slandered and slut shamed the girl. She decided to not testify further and the case was dropped.

Then Koby settled a civil case with her and it went away.

Bottom line. At the very least he should not have been alone in a hotel room with a 17 year old girl. I don't know what the age of consent in Colorado was or is. But he should not have had any sexual contact with that girl.

Furthermore, it has been statistically shown that because and since that case was dropped, far fewer women now report acts of violence and rape against them. Maybe you can identify with this being a problem too.

Go Big Ben!!

Go Kane!!!!

If that's the case, I agree with everything you said.

I cared and I watched it, but this site just usually doesn't have much in terms of basketball debate, and understandably so, with this being a Red Sox/Baseball forum. However, that game was great, I am not a Kobe fan at all and despise the Lakers, but that ending to his career was awesome. Doesn't matter if you hate him or love him, you have to respect a player that was that damn good at his sport.

Also, it was pretty funny that Kobe's career ended with an assist of all things too with that long pass to Jordan Clarkson for the dunk.
