  1. AJ Pierz / Carrabis and Milliken with no pushback from the team or Breslow VS Joe And btw - we'll never truly know is right out of the playbook
  2. But AJP isnt talking about his gut , his opinion, or his speculation. Hes telling you what happened, and Im not hearing any pushback.
  3. Christian Walker is washed up, but I think theres a younger 2b that they want to work in.
  4. Yoshida is already sitting against lefties. Im talking about who gets displaced if they trade pitching for Paredes. Most likely it will be one of Duran/Abreu vs lefties and DHAM vs righties. Unless you think theyll move Cedanne to infield to DH yoshida, which im sure they will sometimes.
  5. And? Mayer in AAA is better depth than Mayer in MLB. Im not saying I hate the thought with him in MLB. Im just saying we are deeper if he starts in AAA. You start Mayer and Dham to open the season in 2026 and we'll be starting Eaton and Sogard when playoffs come. We've seen this movie. Expect injuries. Im not saying Mayer cant play in MLB. Im saying that for the same reason people wanted to push Tolle and Early out of the rotation (becuase they are great depth options in minors) applies to Mayer as well (great depth option in the minors) I trust Mayer more than I trust Early but less than I trust Tolle.
  6. No because Romy is going to play vs lefties regardless of whether or not we get paredes Its not paredes vs romy/DHAM platoon Because romy is going to play vs lefties, it will prob be abreu that sits So its paredes vs Dham /Abreu By not getting paredes, you are playing abreu vs lefties and DHam vs righties (Romy is playing against lefties regardless)
  7. Yes, and the "aggressive" offer wasnt particularly aggressive either (love how you called it SO CALLED aggressive offer, btw) Per AJ P, it went like this Initial offer to Bregman Bregman/Boras - hey, we think our market will be higher and this offer isnt going to get it done Breslow - thats our offer, let us know if you get a better one Bregman/Boras - okay we now have a better offer Breslow - i dont believe you Bregman/Boras - fine, we're about to sign with the cubs Breslow - WAIT!!! I believe you now, what will get it done? Bregman/Boras - 175m, some deferred but not as much as you did. and a ntc Breslow - okay! Well Im about to make you a competitive offer! Bregman / Boras ..... Breslow - 165m, even more deferred Bregman/Boras - thats not what we .....and what about the ntc? Breslow - wont do it Bregman / Boras - Cubs it is Breslow - WAIT!!!! Bregman/Boras - click Breslow - why am i so bad at this?
  8. just like at the trade deadline
  9. We have one. Its AJ Pierzynski. And he told you exactly what happened. Breslow angered Bregman because Breslow isnt good with people, and Bregman wanted to come back, but he looked at Boras and hes like "this dude isnt listening to me, and its aggravating. Plus I have more money in hand from the cubs." ANd Boras stayed silent cuz hes not the bad guy here. Then Bregman told Breslow he was going to sign with the cubs, and thats when bregman upped his offer to 165m,...but he also increased the deferrals and wouldnt include the ntc, and bregman was like you gotta be kidding me ANd now people wanna pretend that we dont know what happened or that it was breslow being shrewd. Hard line in the sand, i respect that. None of it happened. I told you guys that Breslow doesnt human good and it would bite us and there you go Point Drewski
  10. What evidence that he doesnt back down? He did up his offer to Bregman but it was too late. Breslow had already pissed Bregman off by being dense.
  11. I dont think I agree here. I think they would have went higher on Alonso had Bregman signed first. Maybe not enough to get him, but they had multiple meetings with him and there was interest and they couldnt have thought their offer was competitive. I think they max'd at a number that wouldnt take em out of the Bregman running.
  12. Well DHAM is worse at the plate than Rafaela, for sure - and Romy is kind of irrelevant to this because hes going to hit somewhere against lefties. Other than that I agree. It doesnt fix the offense. But it doesnt break it more like some trades of Duran for a good defensive infielder with a noodle bat.
  13. How do you know that AJ Pierzynski doesnt like Breslow and is making it all up to smear him? Thats pretty wild accusation, IMO Keep reaching for the stars
  14. Duran and Abreu are 2 of our top 4 offensive players, I wouldnt trade them in an attempt to improve the offense Id trade pitching.
  15. Note: i would never ask a player to retire to help the team.
  16. Didnt want to say Pedroia?
  17. Prob at the same show at the garden.
  18. Yup, exactly. It just gives people who root for bank accounts a tangible number to root that we stay behind, when in actuality its just pennies and no real penalties. Obvs when you smoke it and blow right by, it starts becoming an actual thing.
  19. I saw nine inch nails in concert like 3 months ago, reznor still has it.
  20. Shut up and silence Add a little violence -nine inch nails.
  21. ^ This is what I pesonally wanna see out of Duran.
