    of course its better to be great at both. Im prob fine leaving it there. BUt I just really hate cliches. I wanted John Farrell fired the first time i heard him spoke. I stop listening immediately when i hear any cliche and its hard to get me to ever listen to you again Folklore isnt logic, and im not interested in regurgitation. not be too harsh but some of my buddies are regurgitators. They arent the smart ones of my friend group.

    whats the point of any band-aid? There is a chance, and a good one, that at some point, it will make sense for cedanne to play infield. Maybe its because cedanne, RA, Duran, Abreu, Masa are all hot at hte plate but story is hurt and mayer cant hit.

    right but he was playing inf against righties and outfield against lefties?

    I just double checked and yes, hes projected to only start 95 games next year. And still has a projected wRC (a counting stat) higher than any player on our offense, lololol They are benching hitters who would be our best hitter.

    One of hte reasons i like defensive versatility is because i expect attrition.

    I do hear you MVP when you say that he loses a ton of value at infield. I remember hating the idea of Swihart at 1b and it smelled to me like people just didnt want to accept that he was a bust. Im like, the dude is so subpar hitter as a firstbaseman, hes a bat first catcher but not like a bat first player regardless of position. Hes useless at 1b. The difference with Cedanne is I dont care what the stats say. I dont think hes useless at 2b. Or at least , I dont think hed be useless if given a little time there. I think hed be damn good kind of like when mookie went from a very good infielder to a very good outfielder back to infielder I also think its temporary. YOu are just parking him at 2b until an OF gets hurt and it will happen at some point.

    That makes sense. Prob not until Roman was up. So campbell was prob playing of only against lefties when abreu sat.

    Regarding does elite pitching beat elite hitting .... theres prob some data. Like when the top 10% of ERA match up against top 10% of OPS, does the OPS go down more than the ERA goes up? I dont want to go looking because i cant even find the zips projections by team

    okay, my main thing is that run prevention equals run creation. If you think the run prevention side 35/15 is bad and its more like 40/10 even more, i wouldnt get triggered and id hear you out. If baserunning = fielding in importance, than hitting the ball is prob pretty close to throwing the ball. I just reject anythnign like pitches and defense wins because in my experience common sayings are for common men.

    I dont think cedanne will be a cf or a 2b. I think he'll be both depending on who is healthy, who is sluping, the handedness of the pitcher... Im nothing if not flexible. Not like physically, im terrible at yoga

    If Cora likes breslow and wants breslow in his role, then we are stuck with breslow until king cora says we can move on If cora doesnt like breslow , breslow should be fired immediately

    cedanne is prob a 2.5 WAR player in the outfield, and a 1.8 WAR player in the infield. Having him play the infield 20% of our games is not going to kill us.

    First of all, you are all underestimating cedanne at 2b. Hes going to be a plus there and a big one. Hes too good to not be. I think if hes an A+++ centerfielder, hes nothing worse than a B+ at infield and anything else is small sample size or adjustment , but he'll figure it out Its also temporary. Even if hes getting some reps at 2b, hes still playing a lot in cf (even with full health) and there will likely be an injury to an OF at some point, opening a spot for him. Hes prob already there vs lefties as one of duran / abreu prob sitting. Im not worried about it. Versatility is always good.

    if we are noodling at the plate and bres doenst get a big bopper at the deadline , hes out for the same reason bloom was. I dont think brez fails a third deadline with so much on the line.

    but whats done and done and we chose to upgrade our #2,3,4 pitchers to Gray,Ranger, Oviedo I would have put more focus into the bats, but im not throwing in any towels. Im not pumpsie, and judge could get hurt. I also think our lineup will improve MULTIPLE TIMES between now and next playoffs. So thats not just paredes. Thats paredes + an offensive bust out from somewhere + another deadline bat. Slackers get benched.

    My only point is if anyone other than Crochet is on the mound (and Judge is healthy) or vs Tor (and Vlad is healthy) Our best way to win is to score some runs vs hoping that a starter who isnt crochet blanks the 2 superstars 3 times and then our bp blanks em another 2. Score3 runs so if judge goes 2-5 with 2 rbis we can win. HOping that Gray/Ranger blank judge over and over again is asking for a lot (IMO)
