  1. well, i mean Duran Marte Carroll Schwarber 1-4 Competes with any team. You have to be really bad everywhere else and we arent and wont be. That being said Ill fall back to Crochet and 4 dont cares.
  2. to save from having to spend more money a few years from now. If your big purchase is a coupon book, are you really spending?
  3. Whats your point? NOt trying to be a jerk honestly asking. Because we dont have a hitter who is close to elite on the offense side healthy or not.
  4. Your package for Carroll and Marte is like 147 to their combined value values of like 166, so its not as far as you may think. I do think you have to include Roman though. And I think if you include Roman (take out Duran) and one more pitching prospect, they consider it and now youre talking about getting one of the truly elite players in baseball (both sides of the ball) in carroll. Question is: are you bold enough to deal Roman for a player who is faster (by a lot), stronger (by a lot), a better defender (by a lot). more arm (by a lot) and more durable (by a lot), and a better player (by a lot) Who is a better outfielder than Carroll taking offense and defense into account? Anyone?
  5. now i think he strikes out too much (kidding)
  6. You think Crochet is going to fall from 2 to outside the top 75?
  7. Wasnt he up like 2 years ago and effective in a small sample and then he got hurt? Understood if Im thinking of the right guy, its old news. BUt still, not super common to see a 25 yr old get DFA'd like that who was pitching out of the pen effectively in 2024. But Im not crying about it.
  8. You can sign a #2 pitcher, you cant sign k marte (who is better than bichette)
  9. But future MVPs are sometimes moved.
  10. Future MVPs arent often moved.
  11. I know by s marte you mean switch hitting ketel marte but i keep thinking you mean sterling marte haha. BTW Sterling marte #1 among active players in stolen bases. Thats not relevant to anything other than you made me think of him when you said s marte If marte is actually available we have to be aggressive there. Hes better than Joe Ryan.
  12. Get rid of Wong and just have Schwarber catch 30% and DH 70%
  13. I thought guererro was going to be part of our pen this year. This whole thing is confusing to me.
  14. Get on my page and just offer 10 out of the 40 men on our 40 man roster for Corbin Carroll, Marte, and Gabe the Babe Moreno Logjam cleared.
  15. You mean to tell me, I cant just keep adding names to the package until they say yes? Carroll is an MVP caliber player
  16. Corbin Carroll is KC, Arias, Harrison, Cedanne, Roman Anthony for Corbin Carroll and Marte. Im insisting on the tooliest player in MLB today (hes better than Acuna)
  17. Why you taking Corbin Caroll out of the deal?
  18. Feels like Pedroia to me. Doubles machine.
  19. I agree, but Bo has a pull profile and his slg is 20% above league average. Its more gap / doubles than over the fence power, but 45 doubles is absolutely nothing to sneeze at, especially when it comes with 20 additional extra base hits. Need more, but hes good as "one" of the two big bats we need, as long as the other big bat is bigger.
  20. Its easy to have a high BA if you are staying back with a super short swing. Its cheating. But if you are making contact in front of the plate (which pull hitters do), slightly longer swing, youlll get a lot more drive and loft. Pull profile + high BA = impressive. High BA without the pull profile = passive hitter. And I dont like em. Like Ive said before, every time im trying to stay back, get a good read on teh ball, go opposite field, its because im slumping and im not confident. Im not trusting my ability to read the pitch so im sitting back longer. AQnd the worst is when you foul off a meatball cuz you recognized its meatballness too late. Weve all been there! You HAVE to be confident at the plate. Have to , have to, have to.
  21. Looking at bo's spray chart, its better than i thought. High batting average is easy when you stay back and slap the ball other way. But if you are pulling, then you are recogniziing the spin, meeting the ball out in front, bat stays through the zone a long time, and youll drive a lot more gaps. I dont believe in things like choking up with 2 stirkes or selling out for contact (by staying back), shortening up the swing or any of that other dated stuff. But I am impressed if hes aggressive, starting the load soon, keeping the bat in the zone, and driving the ball with his legs and hips while still making consistent contact. Thats impressive.
  22. Then ill bring in my doctor friends.
