    At this point the Sox do not need Flaherty as their rotation is set. I am almost certain Flaherty will not be worth the contract he gets which is why he is still out there IMO. I'm fine with Bello.

    Sox are the kings of signing two time TJ pitchers. Henry likes them because they come cheap and almost always on 1 year deals.

    i actually like our rotation right now. Crochet is said to be a stud and I think Bello will take another step this year. I am hoping Buehler is finally healthy. He is only 30 and with his TJ's doesn't have a lot of mileage on his wing. I like his upside and it is only a 1 yr deal. Houck should fit as a good #3 and Gio is said to be ready for ST. Crawford gives solid depth both as a starter or in the pen. Question is going to be the BP which has some good arms but lots of questions too. If everything goes right it could be solid or of course it could be our undoing. The Orioles and Blue Jays have done very little so far this offseason and Tampa not much either. Right now I think the Sox are the 2nd best team in the division.

    Don't cry simply because the LAD are actually committed to winning unlike the tightwad that owns the Sox. He DID care at one time but no longer does. Sox fans better enjoy Crochet for 2 years because if he is not a bust there is ZERO ZERO ZERO chance Henry approves an extension at what it will cost

    the Sox are ALWAYS interested in EVERY top FA on the market but when it comes to actually bucking up Ebenezer Henry closes his wallet. Man i hate this guy now. SELL Henry SELL SELL SELL PLEASE.

    yeah i thought he was way over 27 myself. there is ALWAYS a reason the Sox didn't sign a top FA and Im sure it was never because Henry nixed them all--wink, wink

    Breslow has actually done a decent job given that John Henry is still clutching his wallet as if it is his last dollar. Man the guy has become so cheap that he looks over the top of his glasses to keep them from wearing out.

    Bregman is just another of the long list of FA'S the Sox "have shown interest in" but they haven't signed any so don't hold your breath on Bregman

    it is tough to follow this.. i respect Moon but many of his replies are far too long for a simple minded guy like me to read and follow. At the end of the day i think the Sox will be improved next year as neither Toronto, TB, or Baltimore have done much of anything so far so I see the Sox batting the O's for 2nd in the AL East but not being a serious contender for a long playoff run.

    my guess is that Henry nixed all the high end FA's. i think the Sox are pretty much done other than maybe a 1 yr deal for Grichuk and possibly a b/u C. i am sure they will continue to try and dump Yoshida but nothing of value will come back other than a small amount of his deal. To me the rotation now looks like: Crochet Houck Buehler Bello Crawford Whitlock will stay in the pen with Slaten, Chapman, Fulmer, Winkowski, Hendriks and one or two of our depth guys like Fitts, etc and Henry gets to keep the payroll down.
