  1. None of these guys you mention are close to a sure bet to be anything more than BP bit pieces {Houck} or bottom end SP. Some on here consider P to be a strength but it doesn't come close to matching the Brewers. If you get past a healthy Crochet and a developing Tolle we are not in the league with the true contenders. Tolle made good strides with his off speed stuff this yr but there is still room for growth there.
  2. Brewers won with amazing pitching and timely hitting. Nice story.
  3. yes probably. other than a healthy Crochet even though we have some better than average SP watching the post season we don't match up. Not in the BP either.
  4. Crochet is the only one that excites. besides Houck and Oveida who am i missing? Of course new likely will add another P or 2 still on the DL.
  5. well we don't have any young quality SP available on the farm so trades will be tough since Breslow dealt away most of the top P prospects we had last season.
  6. since DD was canned the Sox have done the vast majority of their signings to a 1-2 yr deals. Constant revolving door. Wasted tons of $$$ on gambles on injured and rehabbing P that 90% of the time didn't pan out.
  7. just look at what has happened the previous 3-4 offseason and you'll get a pretty good idea
  8. i didn't want AB long term either.
  9. or just put the money saved in JH's pocket.
  10. Bregman for one year and same with Gray. Contreras for 2 after missing out on the real big bats. Durbin is a decent player but nothing that great. Only traded for him after Bregman walked. PS- I didn't want Bregman signed long term so I'/m ok with Durbin.
  11. all 3 of them will almost certainly be back
  12. JH to CB- who's the best bat you can get on a 1 yr deal and which rehabbing SP that won't pitch till some time in 2028 can you sign to a 2 yr deal so we can pay for his rehab in 2027. Based on the last several off seasons who can tell me I'm wrong??
  13. who in god's green earth is paying 7.5 for KC??
  14. Roster will likely be similar to this yr save the departure of Sonny Gray and adding a rehabbing SP and a few more depth guys like IKF, Chang, etc.
  15. If JH can get Breslow to find a way to shred the Story $$ it will be done whether Arias is ready or not.
  16. what are you smoking with these trades?
  17. Mets would be insane to make that trade. I agree they may want to get off that contract but it is going to take a lot more than Story and Campbell to do so.
  18. what happened to Mead who we gave up a highly regarded young SP for?? As for Suzuki I was hoping for a guy who could hit 35-40 bombs and dont think he's the guy. Totally missed the ball on Alonso.
  19. nothing to do with this comment but are you just taking shots at everyone tonight?
  20. he has far outplayed Story just the same
  21. look at the projected AAA rotation i don't see any P to get excited about. I agree that Crawford is the most likely to see MLB time but our prospect pipeline on the bump seems like it about the same as it was 3 years ago.
