  1. i don't think the Sox should be trading Casas.
  2. Jansen has gone to the Rays. i guess they could afford him.
  3. the thing that concerns me with Fried is why aren't the Braves seeming interested in re-signing him ?
  4. Burnes AND Fried?? ha ha. think Pivetta and Chapman
  5. I agree but the Sox probably won't
  6. we are paying him than 10 million. he better not just be replacing Booser/Bernandino.
  7. or we could sign Chapman if we want negative pr
  8. it will be exactly what we have done the past 2-3 years
  9. only if he will take a 1 year deal
  10. this is slightly above the dumpster pile but fits perfectly within the Sox philosophy of signing 1 year deals. don't buy a Chapman jersey
  11. why should we consider trading Mayer for Castillo.?? We can get Sasaki for nothing but $$ and keep our SS of the future. No chance in the world I make that trade.
  12. CWS will want more than that for Crochet.
  13. let the Mets have him and go out and get Teoscar, Fried or Burnes plus Scott and we will be serious contenders.
  14. if that includes Bauer as our only pitching addition I don't want Soto
  15. it was classic tv when Bauer turned and fired the ball into the CF bleachers when Tito yanked him from a start
  16. well all that notwithstanding [and I don't like Bauer} if the team is serious about adding a TOP SP and they continue to go the cheap route like the past 3-4 years then Bauer on a cheap 1 year deal makes sense. But if the Sox are truly willing to acquire TOP talent this offseason then I stay away from Bauer.
  17. although I still don't think signing Soto would be a good long term move I do think if we added him and a top SP and a solid reliever capable of closing that the Sox could be true contenders in 2025. First time I have felt that in a long time.
  18. there are several reports on Twitter that Soto has agreed to terms with the Sox on a 12 year deal to be announced in a day or two
  19. exactly. the Sox need a signifigant upgrade on their pitching
  20. like our absentee owner will give a hoot. having said that I am sure we will sign a mid level SP and a decent but not a top reliever.
  21. just enough to make the 2 NY teams up their offer
