  1. this is all a waste of time. Think bringing back Pivetta or someone similar.
  2. Seattle has said many timers they are NOT into trading a SP. Castillo MIGHT be the only one available., Open up your DAMN wallet Henry for either Fried or Burness. We have been hoarding our top prospects because you don't want to spend $$$
  3. and what do you do with Casas?
  4. Sign Fried or Burnes and Teoscar and then a solid reliever and a back up C. Anthony will be here soon to fill RF. There should still room for another 33 type SP as well.
  5. at 62 million/yr for 12 yrs with Roman Anthony on the horizon. I sure as hell hope NOT
  6. MLB FA is a COMPLETE JOKE !! IT IS THE SAME THING EVERY YEAR !! Every other major sports FA period moves much faster. There has not been a single big FA signing in 23 days following the WS and likely won't be one for at least 10-14 more days. Likely nothing to happen till Soto signs his 12-14 year deal. I am going to laugh my a.$.$ off if Bora$$ can't get him a deal till right before the season starts just like a number of his clients last year went through. Like Don Henley said in the Long Road Out Of Eden " behold the bitten apple ,the power of the tools. But all the knowledge in the world is of no use to fools"
  7. as much as I like Soto I am not sure he is a wise signing for the Sox
  8. your guy Nick Martinez is staying with Reds for another year
  9. actually what I mean is that the Sox have tried build through their hitting while neglecting the pitching far too often. I was/am of the belief that the Sox have their MOST depth at the OF position and their LEAST depth in pitching. With Anthony who is supposed to be a superstar in waiting almost ready is Soto really the most important guy to sign?? Now if the Sox were to sign Soto and trade for a Crochet or someone similar or else sign Burnes then I'd be all in on Soto. I am almost certain it is a moot point anyway as I think he will stay in NY with either the Yankees or Mets.
  10. NO to Eovaldi at this point. Sox need a true #1 SP
  11. and then the Sox will be doomed to repeat their past failures.
  12. if we get Soto but not any quality additions to Pitching it will be a lost cause. Outfield is where we have our most depth
  13. Cause apparently we are in on Soto.
  14. sorry but I don't understand this at all. Correct me if I'm wrong yes Soto is a great player but isn't the OF position where the Sox have the most depth?? Soto also hits LH and it has been well documented that the Sox need RH power. If the Sox do manage to sign Soto it will take a boatload of $$ and what will be left to upgrade the one weakness EVERYONE on this board acknowledges which of course is PITCHING.
  15. 5.59 era last year with a whip just under 1.5. exciting signing
  16. yet apparently we are about to open the vault for the LH Soto. A great player no doubt but OF is already our strongest P of depth. A Soto signing would almost guarantee no significant P additions.
