  1. maybe try reading my post before slamming me. I was responding to a post that said Durbin still had options. WHERE in my post did I say he might be DFA'D?? There is no chance of that. I also never said any players the Sox replaced that is viewed negatively. What I will say is that several of the additions have underperformed. IE: Durbin, Suarez, Conteras just to name 3.
  2. sending Durbin down would be a disaster since he was the replacement for Bregman
  3. why didn't we simply SPEND in the offseason to get that power bat? Why do we need to give up young top pitching talent to get it when we have had to wait so long to get some?
  4. that is probably because they stayed away from almost all the additions they were said to be in on.
  5. We simply need to cut bait with this guy even if we just have to eat his salary. Chaim Bloom should be forced to take him in St Loo.
  6. I actually thought the Sox would be better this year and it's far too early to write them off but it's not a great start. Almost all of the offseason additions have been sub standard to date but could have been projected after all of the options the Sox "were in on" didn't come to fruition.
  7. conteras is basically the replacement for Bregman- much cheaper. Gray is another 1 year 21 million contract for a SP we signed last year for pretty much the same $$- given inflation cheaper or at least a saw off. Suarez IMO was a reaction to losing out on Bregman and was not a good signing. The other 3 as you mentioned were all cheaper deals hence our 1-5 record.
  8. well it's early of course but so far none of the offseason additions look all that great. Kinda what happens when you go the lower cost options.
  9. didnt you say Sandal would be in our rotation to start the year?? So far looks like another one of the Sox "low-risk-high reward" busts to me.
  10. you do raise some valid points but don't forget that Mayer was ranked the #1 prospect in his draft year. We should not be giving up on him simply because he has had some injuries. I don't doubt for a second though that IKF won't get at least 300 AB's which likely won't be a good thing.
  11. i don't mind the Durbin trade at all as long as he doesn't block Mayer. The IKF signing is a head scratcher for me just a day or 2 earlier. 6 million is pretty high if he is just going to a backup.
  12. i am just glad we didn't trade any of Tolle, Early, or Witherspoon.
  13. so Hugh tell us then who the player{s} we got in the Babe Ruth trade turned into in 1960 players for the Red Sox
  14. He hit .258 last season. not exactly monster numbers--just saying
  15. at 5'7 i hope they dont hit too many line drives over his head.
  16. should have been made before IKF took us for 6 million.
  17. for JH likely THE most important factor. Anyone know what Durbin makes?
  18. exactly-hopefully he is not Vaughan Grissom pt 2
  19. Harrison was the PRIZE we got back when FLEECED in the Devers trade.
