  1. 38 degrees ENE winds gusting to 20 MPH. Just right.
  2. Not when you start the season in March, and then try to play in Boston in early April.
  3. You keep talking about someone complaining about Abreu kicking the ball around in RF early last year, but what you conveniently leave out was he was doing it at the time, and was being talked about on the airwaves, and the papers also. It was also a fact he has turned out to be a better than good RF. Kind of like the Butterfly Man who turned out to be a better than good OF.
  4. Why is it you keep bringing up ONLY the weight thing? Is that the best comeback you can muster?I’ve said all along there were a number of things that was preventing Raffy to hitting a baseball with his mechanics being messed up being one of them right from the start, which you kept Pooh, poohing. The weight was added later on when a picture was being shown side by side of Raffy in 2024, and Raffy in 2025, and the 2025 picture showed Raffy showing more girth in the trunk. You were saying Cora was embarrassing Raffy by playing him, and I even heard the word fired being thrown around. Raffy was embarrassing himself. You hit the panic button, and crawled on a ledge, and thought there was a major crisis when there was NO CRISIS at all.
  5. As many laps as you guys took claiming their was a major crisis going on when there was none not only with Raffy, but the whole offense as well, and this was all done after all of three games into the season. How enjoyable was all that?
  6. Freak out is right, and then some. Only after three games too. I hate to see what they would do in a REAL crisis. Not only did Raffy make a miraculous recovery, but the much maligned hitting coaches after three games as well has gotten the team hitting again. Way to go guys.
  7. What a miraculous recovery Raffy has had in less than a week after having double shoulder surgery. OH wait he wasn’t hurt at all just some messed up mechanics. Great diagnosis.
  8. You’re right he was more cocked.
  9. Good point, and I wouldn’t argue only to say Yaz, and Tiant were 3 years older. Tiant was better in 75 in that postseason run.
  10. You make good points, but I take nothing away from the 75 team, because they didn’t win, and like I said before none of the Red Sox teams who ended winning the WS had to face a 3 time defending champion just to get to the WS, and didn’t face a team like the BIG Red Machine after they got there. Rice being out hurt the Red Sox, and he might have made a difference.
  11. It was great to see the 75 team yesterday, and even greater to see Yaz. I know the 75 team didn’t win the WS, or have the great record the 2018 team did, but in the 60+ years I have been watching the Red Sox the 75 team is the best Red Sox team I have seen. Nobody had to run the gauntlet to even get to the WS like the 75 team did facing the 3 time defending WS champion A’s, and sweepIng them in 3 games, and then talking the BIG Red Machine to seven games all without Rice who was injured.
  12. I agree, and the success of the team will hinge on the success of the starting rotation.
  13. There has to be a lot of relief felt around Fenway these days. First the team has climbed, and clawed their way back up from a 1-4 record to a now respectable 4-4. Raffy has made a miraculous recovery in just 3 days from possible having double shoulder surgery, and not being able to even touch a baseball with a bat with now being able to do so, and actually get some hits. Some suggested his mechanics were just out of whack, but most said no it had to be those bad shoulders. Cora must feel relieved, because he won’t have to be fired for playing Raffy, and embarrassing him. Next no hitting coaches will have to be fired, because the team is striking out so much, and looking like a bunch of Little Leaguers. Enjoy the games until A REAL crisis comes up.😀
  14. Personally I don’t care one way or the other. I’m just watching what’s going on with lineup in the field right now, and don’t have any thoughts, or worries of what might happen down the road. Game 8 is today, and game 9 maybe tomorrow. I’ll think about game 100, or 2026 when that time comes. An injury could happen at any moment, and then I’ll think about what changes will have to be made.
  15. If he’s healthy, and his arm holds up he’ll be fine at SS. His bat is more of a worry to me.
  16. How do you know Story would still have plus range at 2B? Last time he played there was three years ago when the shift was a big thing, and he spent a good part of the time in short RF. Story is not going to be moved off SS anytime soon IMO unless there is an injury, and even then Mayer could be injured before that. It’s only 7 games into the season, and I don’t think the Red Sox are even thinking about making any roster changes No matter how good Mayer, or Anthony may do at Woo. I know these suspects are like money that’s burning a hole in your pockets, and they just have to be in Boston. They are fine right where they are IMO especially after just 7 games into the season. NOBODY should be untouchable, and sooner than later some trades will have to be made to get more pitching IMO.
  17. If, if, if. What if Mayer gets included in a deal for more young pitching like Crochet. It’s not out of the realm of possibility to me. I’ve said all along the Red Sox would not sign any FA pitchers to big-long term contracts, and would trade suspects like they did with Teel to get some. Someone will get traded IMO.
  18. Well Whit said he likes being the Swiss Army Knife, so anything is possible. Of course this all depends on him staying healthy. I’d like to see him getting some 1 inning chances like the 8th inning myself.
  19. It wasn’t really the dislike of Bloom, but the dislike of the change of philosophy.
  20. 6 k’s today in 4IP was good, but he wasn’t real sharp, and only lasting 4IP wasn’t good, which took 82 pitches at that.
  21. No, and he’s not doing that. He pitched on the 4th day for his 2nd appearance, and the 3rd day today.
  22. Good win! 3-4 looks a lot better than 1-4, and it looks like the hitting is coming around.
